Customer Reviews of Good News
a williams fan This is a great music CD. The songs are upbeat and well wriiten and, the harmony is out of this world! I have a CD of this selection in my car, in my home, and in my vaction house. I have given it for gifts, and been thanked many times over. I came to love this group from hearing it on A Prairie Home Companion. They are also part of the group put together on that radio show, called "The Hopefull Gospel Quartet".
A great mix of acoustic gospel music
The previous review by the confused buyer notwithstanding, this is a great collection of songs. The selection of tunes is fairly eclectic (Carter Family, Dorothy Love Coates, and Townes Van Zandt to name a few) and both the vocal and instrumental performances are outstanding. A great aspect of this CD is that the tunes are not only uplifting, but great to sing along with. My kids love this CD, but don't let that make you think it's shallow or cutesy. It's not. There's just alot of great music here that happens to lend itself to family listening. Keep it up Robin and Linda (and your fine group)!
ok, but not what i thought i was getting
I was looking for an album by the Good News gospel quartet, with Garrison Keillor. The amazon review recommended this album because the williams are featured on Keillor's show. These guys are okay, but it is not a gospel quartet. Very disappointing!
