Customer Reviews of Godless: The Church of Liberalism
Great read - and makes sense. Yes I'm a conservative, but I haven't always been one. I enjoyed Coulter's book mostly because it just plain made sense. She documents quotes and sources regularly, while taking jabs at some of the more unbelievable double-standards of the left. The first chapter is not only hysterical, but accurate! <

>Read the book and decide for yourself. It's hard to ignore her views on abortion and wartime. Like I mentioned, it makes sense.
Simplistic, nasty, with some truths mentioned
Although people might become offended by many of the raw positions that Coulter takes in this book, one thing that can be deemed true is that liberalism, like any set of beliefs, can be seen as being a religion - even if it appears to be "anti-religion". However, it would appear that Coulter fails to address the fact that liberals are not one monolithic entity.

>Another point that Coulter makes which should be taken seriously is the way in which science can sometimes be manipulated by those who claim to have no faith. It would be interesting to have more honest dialogue regarding the evolutionary theory, as those who claim to be non-dogmatic suddenly close the doors to comprehensive scientific enquiry when it comes to their doctrine being questioned - in this case, the evolutionary theory. Of course, the evolutionary theory is a central and paramount pillar for those who will to take the idea of a creator of this universe out of the equation. Hence, Coulter's point that liberalism has "its own explanation of the existence of the universe" can be construed as being correct.

>Another book which also addresses the concept of liberalism is worth examining, as it also deals with this subject, albeit from an Islamic perspective - something that would make Coulter shudder to even think about. Sacred Freedom: Western Liberalist Ideologies in the Light of Islam shares the same view as Coulter that liberalism is a religion like any other set of beliefs, yet surprisingly, is much less biting than Godless: The Church of Liberalism.

>No doubt, Coulter is a divisive force in American society. That does not mean that everything she says is incorrect. Even those who justly oppose her would have to agree with certain things she says. Amongst the major points she has brought forward in this book is that liberalism, just like any other set of beliefs, should be seen as being a religion.

Enough folks........
Hitler was a Roman Catholic and espoused Christian principles to back up his social policies just as Coulter does? If we're going to criticize Coulter, try being more accurate instead of using absurd shock tactics. Hitler was no real Catholic, or Christian. He may have attended church, he may have been on a church role, but in name only. The reason many revile her books is because she hits people right where it hurts, in their hypocritical lives. Churches all over this country are full of people, who's personal views, lifestyles, and beliefs, are contrary to almost everything the Bible teaches........Yet these clowns actually see themselves as Christians.
