Customer Reviews of Ghetto Classics
well done Ok good CD. im not suprised. Ok jaheim may not have the b best voice but his music is good and it goes will with the voice that he has. Yes yall this album does use profanity but the songs actually have meanings. I like that daddy thing song, and like a dj. This album looks at issues from a mans point of view. Ya know we've heard the angry woman and how the man did t his and that now jaheim looks at it from a males view. Ok yall i know he is not the first one to do this but he did it well. Also this is a break from that [...] that is played on the radio.
Waiting for the expected masterpiece
Even if i love many modern R&B artists, previously quoted in these reviews, i think that Jaheim's voice it's truly the best in the contemporary R&B scene. Every comparison with Teddy Pendergrass isn't disrespectful. Sampling an old song isn't enough to remake a classic, if you haven't a musical sensitivity that comes straight from your soul. Fortunately, Jaheim have this kind of sensitivity...and this is the reason why i'm an huge fan of him.

>However, i haven't given the maximum score to this album, because sometimes i still notice some lacks on the lyrics and the musical arrangements. Aside these things, the general level of the production it's very good (as usual). Album after album, Jaheim is always walking close to the edge of the masterpiece line. If he'll succeed to create a perfect chemistry with his producers (i mean an artistical partnership like Pendergrass/Gamble & Huff, Vandross/Miller, etc.) i'm sure that he'll gift to us many years of amazing music, because his talent it's crystal clear.
He's Still Ghetto.
Not since Mary J. Blige has an artist bridged together hip hop and r&b so seamlessly as Jaheim. The New Jersey native is blessed with a Teddy-esque voice that makes the ladies (and, yes, some men) melt like butter on a biscuit. In fact, if Mr. Pendegrass were a twentysomething in 2006, he'd likely release an album similar to "Ghetto Classics," Jaheim's first album in over three years. It's hard to single out favorites on this album, since every track is solid, but standouts include "Daddy Thing," "Fiend," "I Ain't Never," and "Masterpiece." The production is a smooth mix of street-smart r&b with nods to the old school of the 70s. After a 3 year wait and a couple delays, "Ghetto Classics" shot straight to Number One on the Billboard charts upon release. Don't be the last to discover this talent, who's well on his way to multiplatinum heights.
