Customer Reviews of Get Lost
WOW! I'd heard about these guys via the NYC scene, and was bowled over by this CD. Almost all of the songs are channeling Iggy and NY Dolls, which is not something many bands can pull off. The drumming and bass playing are incredible, and the songwriting is sharp with many hooks. Looks like the bass player wrote some on his own, and his are very, very good songs. I saw them live not long ago, and they have a different line up (bass and guitar), which I discovered is nothing new for the Sons. The new guys sounded pretty good, but the playing on 'Get Lost" must've been something to see live with the "Get Lost" version. Anyway, I'd suggest that you buy this CD if you like Dolls, Iggy, Garage or rock & roll.
Pretty cool garage/rock'n'roll record!
Don't let the picture on the album fool you! These guy are not just a bunch of Nuggets [bad] artists or retro garage copy-cats. The Sons Of Hercules play a tough Stones/Dolls brand of punk rock that is full of bad attitude and raw power. This is the exactly what modern garage/rock'n'roll should sound like - all raw, rough and angry...
3rd Album And Still Going Strong!
This is a great garage-punk record that you gotta have. The hooks get stuck in your head almost as soon as you turn it up. Every songs a winner. Although it could use beefier production don't let it persuade you to pass this album up. It's not as lo-fi as all these reviews would have you imagine. Although this is a great album of theres I urge you to check out ther first two as well.
