Customer Reviews of Genesis - Videos Volume 1
Video Compilation Pleases Hardcore Fans For fans of Prog-Pop superstars Genesis (who were led by Tony Banks, not Phil Collins as the press insisted) this video compilation will provide a nice video documentary of their latter career. 1978 to 1986 videos are run in no particular order, providing an often-humerous view of the progression of the pop video format itself. Highlights are the Spitting Image production of Land Of Confusion, or the Blade Runner inspired Tonight Tonight Tonight, both from the multi-platinum smash Invisible Touch album. Duchess from 1980's Duke album is a sadly missed opportunity, with the band parading around in dirty trenchcoats and fedora's, and Collins in his Charles Manson-look scruffy beard. Their MTV breakthrough, the creepy & atmospheric Mama is included, along with No Reply At All, That's All, Anything She Does, an early promo video for Robbery Assault and Battery, In Too Deep, Abacab, and the sappy Top-40 breakthrough Follow You Follow Me (a pathetic turning point in the history of the band). Currently out of print, this tape is easy to find for collectors via the tape trading underground. Now, if only someone would release that 1972 Genesis & Peter Gabriel Belgian tv show performance......
