Customer Reviews of GYRATION GP1100-001 Wireless Rechargeable Rf Combo
Ultra-the 1st model is the one I have had for 2 years. I bought it at Best Buy. It was the only wireless combo I would consider. I paid $125. <

>I LOVE THE laptop-like SMALL, FLAT KEYBOARD!!! I don't understand why everyone doesn't! It makes typing SO much easier when the keys aren't sticking up 1/2 an inch. The light, compact keyboard rests on my lap while I am using my PC and I hardly notice it's there. <

>The keyboard is what sold me! It's a nice black color too, with easy-to-read bold white numerals on it. <

>The mouse can work in the air, but I prefer to use it on a flat surface. It still is easier on the wrist than the average mouse. It's small, a good size for a woman's hand. It's wonderful not having to mess with wires! <

>Setting up the RF controller at first to "learn" and "teach" might be a little tricky for some people, but I think t's pretty easy. You just press one button on the device and another on the receiver. <

>I see they changed the mouse shape in the latest "GO" version of this product. <

>My only complaint is the short battery life of the 4 AAA's in the keyboard (about 5 months) and how fast the recharged battery on the mouse loses it's charge. I say this from the point of view of a gamer. Four hours of heavy mouse use on my current game and it seems to need to be put back in the cradle. It may be because I've had it so long. The other reviewer is right about the cradle too. It has to sit "just right" in it, and I admit I sometimes think it's sitting right when it isn't. <

>About droppage: I have dropped every bit of this equipment on my wood floor many times. The worst thing that has ever happened is the battery pack falls out of the mouse. I just snap it back in & it's fine. <

>Customer support has been very responsive in my experience.
Incredible for its purposes
I have had two of these units for almost two years. I made the mistake of loaning one to my eldest son, a computer professional (smileproject.com,) and have run out of patience reminding him to return it.

> You have to start by accepting that this is not your basic keyboard/mouse. Yes, they are wireless. And the keyboard is tiny laptop-size. So if that's a problem don't bother. Plus some keys are in unexpected places which is disconcerting if you switch between keyboards a lot. But it is a qwerty. So if you can get past that the performance is superb and the AAA battery life quite good.

> As for the mouse: It is indeed gyroscopic. Meaning you don't have to roll it over anything, you just move it slightly through the air while holding down a motion button. Thus no carpal tunnel. And I have gotten to the point of familiarity that I rest my arm on my desk chair and barely move my hand to move about the screen. That is two Godsends: 1) it is enormously less wearing for someone such as myself who has neck, arm and hand nerve problems; and 2) Learning to use the mouse can be difficult for some people (such as my youngest son, 28,) which discourages casual visitors from sitting down to check their e-mail or just plain surfing.
<
> On the downside. The mouse is not pinpoint precise - it depends on the steadiness of your hand. And you have to make sure it is securely seated in its cradle after use (green lights go on) or it will apparently go into sort of a sleep mode that only green lights can awaken.

> Thus, for the things it accomplishes, the product is an excellent purchase.
Works great; Good product!
I was surprised when I saw so many negative reviews for this product. I have had minor problems that were easily fixed by emailing support. My keyboard works from 30 feet away, but I really don't need that functionality. The mouse works wonderfully and the battery life is excellent. I've had mine for over two years now and I can go 2 days or so between charges (about 9 to 10 hours of use). One reviewer mentioned their mouse breaking from a 2 foot drop onto carpet. I have dropped mine several times onto carpet and not had a problem.

>Why the 4? The accuracy of this mouse is good enough for me, but probably would not be for big-time gamers and people who work with graphics (I'm talking detailed stuff, not just resizing and cropping images). If the mouse were a bit more accurate it would have earned a 5. Overall a great product.
