Listeners will also delight in the pair of 3-inch front-firing speakers, which provide crisp, clear stereo sound, along with the high-performance subwoofer--a rarity in an under-counter system--to boost the bass performance. Users can further adjust the low-end frequencies via the variable bass control.
The Spacemaker is more than just a stereo, however. It also offers a digital clock and alarm with a green backlit LCD display, along with a three-position counter light. The clock and alarm set quickly and easily thanks to the forward and reverse time-set controls, while the time-hold capacitor stores just enough energy to keep the time and wake settings intact during momentary power failures. The counter light is also handy, with a high setting that offers a generous beam for countertop illumination and a low setting that functions as a night light. The Spacemaker even comes with a 40-watt bulb.
Additional features include a countdown timer (0 to 30 minutes) that's great for cooking meals; a remote control that stores conveniently with the unit or on the fridge using the rear magnet; and a convenient cord wrap and hooks that keep the power cable from getting in the way. The Spacemaker comes with all the necessary mounting hardware and adjustable spacers to fit various types of kitchen cabinets. And at 15.5 by 4.8 by 11.9 inches (W x H x D), it takes up a minimum of space. The unit is also backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Customer Reviews of GE 75290 Spacemaker CD/FM/AM Player with Built-in Subwoofer (White)
no problems here. I've had this cd/radio for 4 or 5 years now and it's great! I have not had that first problem. The only thing I can complain about is when my husband gets home from work he has a tendency to slam the kitchen door and at times it will make my cd skip. I blame him though and not the player. It never does it otherwise. My radio works great and picks up many stations, my cd player is great and it does play burned cds. I will keep this thing until I run it into the ground. One other thing, the sound quality is decent, it works for where you have it. Plus, I have a ton of space for the more important kitchen items. If you want surround sound in your kitchen, wire it and hook it up.
Not worth the sticker price
My husband purchased this cd player and installed it for me 2 years ago. After about 1 year, the FM recetpion became quite poor. It finally got so that we could only hear it for a few seconds before the volume dropped to sub-human hearing levels. This is a more expensive version & definitely proves that more $$ does not ensure better quality.
Terrible radio - look elsewhere!
I have just recently taken this item out of my kitchen after years of displeasure. The sound quality is terrible. The volume mysteriously turns down on the radio and the only way to fix it is to either turn up the volume (and then get blasted away when the volume unexpectly increases!) or turn off/on the radio. This technique only works occasionally. Also, this player will not play any CD's that you have burned yourself. All-in-all, I would not recommend this radio to anyone.
