Customer Reviews of Full Spectrum Warrior
Not much player involvement. The graphics, atmosphere, and overall look of this game is pretty good. The gameplay is lousy, and has no replay potential. Remember those old games like space invaders or Pac Man, where once you figured out the sequence you could play forever? Well, FSW is a lot like that. There really is no skill or manual dexterity required, and really not even many alternatives to how you accomplish the missions. You are not free to move everywhere on the map. You just get channeled down a certain route, and then shoot who pops up. Basically all you do is place your cursor on the enemy and tell your squad to shoot. It takes these guys one shot to hit someone 400 feet away up on a castle turret, and around the next bend they use 300 rounds to hit a target hiding behind a hot dog stand. There really is no use of tactics, you just try a different combination of shooting, grenades, smoke grenades and see which one the game is programmed to perceive as a success.
Awesome GAME!!
I just got FSW today from Hays Hastings. I reserved my copy today and picked it up today. This game has spectacular graphics and even better gameplay! I get pinned down a lot, but that's where you use both Alpha and Bravo teams together to flank the enemey. I kill about five baddies for every time I get one of my guys shot up. It is kinda tough and quite addicting. I'd buy this again in a New York SECOND!! I highly recommend this game.
Now, it is true that you yourself cannot shoot the guns. You control your team's movements and they'll automatically and accurately, I might add, start firing back. I can actually get a bad guy to concentrate on one team, then my other team will sneak up on him and shoot him. So stealth is a possibility in this game, but is difficult to accomplish.
The controls are slicker than snot, but since there are dozens of different commands to order out, it does take some practice. But that's where you go to the manual for easy access.
You start the game off in training. You cover everything from throwing grenades, moving, tactics, and shooting. Then you move off into the actual game. The training takes about an hour to an hour and a half, but you can take as long as you want.
I finally figured out WHY the game does not allow you to take control of vehicles. This game is a simulator for the Army's infantry. The infantry does not use vehicles in their task forces. DUH!
pretty good
I rented this game and i thought it was cool. it was realistic in terms of if you get shot your dead. there wasnt much about this game i didnt like. this game is more like command and concour. you dont control one man you control 8 men on 2 teams. its fun and it took me a few days to beat it and took alot of stratigy. i think you will like it.
