Customer Reviews of From There to Here: Greatest Hits
Great Set Lonestar is truly a great country band. Their songs are engaging and the harmonies are superb. This collection takes a look at their early career, and brings you right up to date with their current music too. It's been an interesting career for them. For their first two albums, the selftitled one and CRAZY NIGHTS, it was the 4 members plus John Rich who later left the group. With their third album LONELY GRILL, they found huge crossover success with "Amazed", which secured their place in the world as superstars. With their last album "I'm Already There", it built on that success and then some. The lead single for the collection is the uptempo "My Front Porch Looking In", a fun uptempo that has a great chorus. Another great new song is their remake of Mark Cohn's "Walking In Memphis", which hopefully becomes a single. The hits are worth celebrating too. The softer side is shown on songs like "Amazed", "Smile", "I'm Already There", but they kick it up a notch or two on the uptempos like "You Walked In", "What About Now", "With Me", "No News", etc. This is truly a must have collection for any fans, old or new, of Lonestar.
RE: WOW
I have been a Lonestar fan since I saw them open for Collin Raye back in the Tequila Talkin' days. I own every CD they've put out and think this is a well-deserved milestone for them. Many people think that it shows the "transformation" of the group, but as I listen, not much has changed. They have a new look and perhaps better marketing, but they have always put out great music with Richie's amazing voice at the lead and Dean, Keech, and Michael doing their thing as well. Their new tracks are AWESOME! The first time I heard "My Front Porch Looking In", I was hooked. "Walking In Memphis" is better than the original by Mark Cohn. It is a rare thing that I like a cover better than the original. I recently saw them perfom it live with Richie at the piano and it was amazing.
There are very few CDs I enjoy listening to from the first to the last track and this is one of them. Even my non-country music liking friends enjoy this CD. It's a must have for Lonestar fans and would make an excellent addition to any collection.
One of my favorites!
This CD is by far one of my favorite CD's! I could listen to this WHOLE CD over and over w/o ever getting sick of it! Lonestar is great I love all their songs!
