Customer Reviews of Friends - The Complete Fifth Season
One of the Best Seasons! The Fifth Season is where the show really starts getting good. Many people have complained about Monica's change in character, but I really like it! I know that Ross gets whiny, but who actually liked Ross to begin with? The other characters are great as always! This season has some of the funniest episodes, like "The One Where Everybody Finds Out" and "The One With All the Resolutions" This season is just classic right up to the season finale cliffhanger, which makes you wish January 27 would come sooner.
Some have complained that the outtakes episode wasn't included with this season. It won't be on Season 6, either. It aired during Season 7 and I'm pretty sure that it will be included with that season. But season 5 is enough to hold you until January and then when season 7 comes out. This season rocks!
Friends at its peak
This is the first Friends season I've bought, and was very impressed. Some might wonder why I didn't begin with season one, but here's why. For fans of the show who are just beginning their collection, start with the best the show has to offer. And that's season five. On the other hand, for viewers who aren't too fimiliar with the show yet want to get into it, it only makes sense to start with the first season.
Season five contains possibly the best episode throughout the course of the series, "The One With All The Thanksgiving," where everyone relives Thanksgiving day horror stories from their past. Other notable events from this season are the fallout from Ross' and Emily's botched wedding, Phoebe's birth to her brother's triplets, and the evolution of the Chandler-Monica angle.
The four-disc DVD, obviously including all seaosn five shows, is very well-done. The audio/video transfer, which some people have questioned, is fine. I don't see how people could complain about its quality.
The menu's are easy to navigate, and snazzy at that. Next to each episode title, there's a coffee cup. If you click it, you can watch a preview of the episode. It's a great way to decide which shows you want to watch and when.
The extras, while not as good as they should be, are sufficient. There's commentary show higher-ups on three shows, a 45 minute Discovery Channel documentary on what it takes to create a Friends episode, Friends on location in London, an easter egg, and Guther's preview of season six.
Friends has had good seasons before, and after, season five... but none better than season five.
The Best Season Yet
I am a huge fan of FRIENDS. I have all of the VHSs or DVDs that have come out yet. Like the Best of Friends and all of the Seasons 1-5. I think this is the best season yet because every episode makes you laugh, I mean really laugh.
Some of my favorite episodes are:
The One Hundredth,where Pheobe gives birth to triplets;
The One with All the Thanksgivings, where they relive the past worst Thanksgivings;
The One with Ross's Sandwich, where Ross gets fired for yelling at his boss about his Turkey Sandwich with the Moist Maker;
The One with Chandler's Work Laugh, where Chandler and Monica have a very annoying work laugh;
The One Where Everybody Finds Out, when Pheobe tries to make Chandler tell he is with Monica and then finds out they're in love;
The One Where Ross Can't Flirt, he tries to flirt with the Hot Pizza Delivery Girl and gets all nervous and starts talking about gas;
The One in Vegas, where Monica and Chandler make a bet and if they win they get married and then find Rachel and Ross are getting married before them
If you don't already have this season and just want to laugh, BUY THIS SEASON!!!!!!
