Customer Reviews of Franz Lehár: The Merry Widow
Great Dame! Wonderful to hear the great Dame in Operetta. Her voice is very expressive and beautiful in this recording, her diction, surprisingly good. I find myself listening to this cd everytime I need a "lift". It never fails to make me smile. And the music is glorious. Too bad Sutherland didn't record the Operetta in it's entirety. So we would have to purchased Dame Joan's VHS of "The Merry Widow", in which we would have to suffer with a sixty year old Sutherland's wide vibrato. But she is magnificent here!!!
