very good dvd
if you grew up listening to maze on the 8-track, over and over again, you will absolutely love this dvd. even if you're a marginal maze or frankie beverly fan, you'll still want to purchase this dvd. will bring back a lot of memories for the 30ish and over crowd, and will introduce one of the very finest bands around to the 20something crowd. an excellent dvd. no complaints about the audio of video.

Classic performance; poor audio/video.
I have been a fan of Maze since they were known in the '70s as Frankie Beverly and the Raw Soul. I remember the controversy in Philadelphia when a prominent DJ predicted Frankie Beverly would be unsuccessful due to the roughness of his voice. How wrong he was. Frankie Beverly is considered to this day one of the most talented R&B artist ever. I recently saw him at the Hampton Jazz festival, and his concert there was as exciting as the first concert I saw of him in the late '70s. In fact, this DVD shows Frankie Beverly in a classic performance, but the sound is not good and the video looks like VHS quality. If you like Maze and can tolerate the relatively poor sound quality of this DVD, buy it as the performance is good. But, if sound and video quality are equally important to you, I'd borrow this one. Just don't borrow it from the person that will say, "no my brother, you got to get your own.":-)

It's a concert in your own livingroom. The music touch your soul, because he's singing from his heart. To know it was made in the city of New Orleans make me know that Maze know in New Orleans we always give a great feed back to them when they perform here. I recommend this DVD greatly! Waiting for Maze At the Essence festival July 4, 2004!!!!!!
