Customer Reviews of Flip Video Camcorder: 60-Minutes (Black)
Does Not Work With Apple!!! We are on our 3rd camera from Flip because the camera which seems fantastic does not work with a Mac, even though they will lie and tell you it does. We had footage from Paris that took FOREVER to download because the camera kept electronically detaching from the computer. Fortunately we got the footage but it was very tedious. Flip sent a replacement that also did not work with the Mac and a 3rd replacement that we waited 4 weeks for that would not even start up! They wanted us to give them a credit card # before they sent the 4th. Do we want to try it again??? Not sure. After all this I do wish it worked but my faith is pretty weak. My advise. If you have a Mac don't get it unless you have a lot of time to kill and strong nerves.
Flip video camcorder - top notch!
I purchased this item for a Valentines Day gift for my hubby. We both love it! Have used it several times, very user friendly.
Your Videos Are Not Your Own
This is why I give the Flip only 1 STAR: If I buy a video camera and take some footage of my family, shouldn't that video then be MY property? To do with as I please?

>I would say the answer should be--Yes. However, with the Flip, your videos are not your own. You are limited to downloading them to your computer, sending an email link to friends and family, posting them only on YouTube, or having to take your camera down to a photo finisher and have a DVD made. I'm sorry, why should I have to pay Walgreens or some other company to make a DVD for me when, in most other cases, I could make a copy from my own computer for free? As for YouTube, I happen to like using another website for sharing my videos with family--can't do it with a Flip! I have also heard that it automatically puts an advertisement at the end of your video. Maybe this is why the camera is so cheap. Perhaps they should pay us to use it.

>The camera itself is fine for kids. It is certainly low priced. I bought one for my 13 year old son. It is very simple to use. There are some irritating limitations though. It does not have a date/time stamp which would be nice to have on the video years from now. And each time you stop recording you cannot restart recording seemlessly. In other words there is no "pause" button and when you restart recording it is recorded and listed as a seperate video.
