Fisher-Price has managed to combine the cozy comfort of their Papasan infant seats with the functionality of a cradle swing. Strap baby into the swing with the padded three point harness. The two reclining positions allow for playtime or naptime. When it's time for play, clip on the snack tray with bead bars and play eight different happy tunes while the star mobile bobs up and down and around. When it's time for rest, remove the snack tray and start the swinging. The soothing six-speed cradle swing will rock in the traditional fashion from left to right, or spin the cradle 90 degrees and it will rock front to back. Eight new lullabies will play and the cradle projects a spinning star-scape onto the canopy to have baby minutes from slumber. The nicest feature is that it allows for any iteration of motion, music, and mobile movement. It can be plugged in or run on four D batteries (it is recommended using AC power). The seat pad is removable and machine-washable, and the recommended age is birth and up with a maximum of 25 pounds. --Scott Teal

Customer Reviews of Fisher-Price Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing
Love this swing! I purchased this swing after much research into other types of cradle swings. I bought it with specific intention of getting my then 9 week old son to sleep on his own (not in my bed). <

>I love this swing! My son would not sleep anywhere but with me. I got it home and promptly set it up (set up is easy as long as you read the directions). I put him in the swing and turned on all the features. He fell asleep after about 10 minutes! He seems very comfortable snuggled into the cradled seat and he enjoys the swinging motion along with the sounds and lights. <

>I have used the swing everyday for naps and bedtime for the past 5 weeks and he still loves it. I have had no problems at all with any of the features not working properly. We do tend to turn everything off after he has been asleep for about 15 minutes though. We don't generally leave it going for hours, though there have been a few times when I fell asleep before turning it off and still no issues. We also leave it stationary and have had no issues with the stability (of course you do have to make sure the legs are set properly - common sense to me). The swing motor could be loud for some people, but we honestly don't mind - its just "white noise" to us. <

>All in all, this swing has been a life saver for us to be able to get our son to sleep and was well worth the money.
Nice swing....a few problems
First let me say this is a great swing. It is so cute and the light feature with stars and the different swinging settings is great. Oh, and I cannot forget the fact that I can plug it in to an outlet and not have to keep buying batteries is a major plus. There are also problems like:
<
>1. pain to put together
<
>2. sometimes I have to push the swing to get it to swing
<
>3. Light and mobile stop working a lot and I have to always restart. This may be because my little one is in it so much 'cause he loves it.
<
>So, enjoy the swing but don't expect it to be perfect...really what product is these days....
Beautiful swing, though coloring is odd...
I'm having a boy and I had expected this swing to be baby blue. I just received it and it's actually lavender and much more girly-looking than I'd expected. It is still adorable, and I'm glad I purchased it. However, you're looking for a blue swing, this isn't. -Really, not blue at all. It's still okay for a boy, and would work beautifully for a girl too!

>Seeing all the pieces laid out on the floor, I was a little overwhelmed with the thought of assembling it. However, it was super easy and took only about 15 minutes. Overall I love this swing, and the only con so far is the color. I posted pics to show the actual purple color.

>*I'll be posting a real review once we've used the swing more, as I've noticed a lot of consumers have had problems with this product's motor in the past. Hopefully Fisher-Price has worked out the kinks and it will be a positive one(finger's crossed)!
