The two-position seat reclines to an almost-flat position for newborns or preemies lacking head support and for older babies who are ready to sleep. The seat adjusts to a more upright position for babies who are alert and enjoying the gliding motion. For safety, baby is strapped in with a three-point harness that is wide and soft so it gently contains baby without binding.
Parents can choose to turn on accompanying music while baby rocks to either promote sleep or enhance baby’s auditory senses. The glider plays eight soothing lullabies for babies preparing to snooze or eight more upbeat tunes for those who are wide awake. For gross motor skill development, a padded toy bar dangles a little plush bunny and bear for older babies to bat around. Parents can remove the toy bar in a jiffy to lift baby from the seat.
The Soothing Motions glider has a 360-degree rotating seat so parents can turn baby to face them as they move about a room. For babies experiencing separation anxiety, this feature reduces a great deal of fussing that can be so stressful for parents. And, suppose baby does fall asleep in the glider and needs to be moved out of a high-traffic area to continue his nap. Comfortable handles at the head and foot of the glider, hidden beneath the built-in dust ruffle, make it easy for mom or dad to safely lift baby and glider and carry them to another room.
The glider’s seat pad is machine-washable so the expected baby messes—spit-up milk and diaper leaks--are easily cleaned up. This glider requires four "D" batteries for operation and, sadly, does not come with a plug. Parents will need to have plenty of extra batteries stashed away so as not to be left high and dry with a fussy baby and a motionless glider. Great for naps and cranky babies! My son would not sleep in his crib or pack and play due to gas/reflux. This glider was such a lifesaver. It's just enough of an angle to relieve his reflux and it keeps him nice and cozy so he will always sleep in it. The noise factor is there if you're trying to sleep in the same room, but during the day it is not distracting at all and never bothers my son. I took the mobiles off as I really used it as a little cot for him. <

Love Love Love This Glider - Would Not Live W/O It!
Our 4 month old is still going strong in this glider. It is the best product that we have. He loves gliding, sleeping and staring/batting at the toy bears. Everyone who has come over comments on how awesome this is. The swivel base is so convenient - We keep this stationary in our family room and spin him around so that we can stare at him sleeping in it!
What would we do without it!
This is such a great rocker! I will agree that it is heavy and awkward to move but we dont ever move it so its not a problem. It has lived in our bathroom for 6 months and I use it to put the baby in when I am showering. It is the only time of day I am guaranteed uninterupted peace. He still falls asleep in it at 6 months! I am heartbroken that he is about to outgrow it! The batteries lasted until about a week ago (so six months) which was nice. My son was born 7 weeks early and after his first week at home he had really bad allergies and could not lay flat because he was so congested. This rocker was a life saver during those times because it elevated him enough so that he could breathe better and both of us could get more sleep. I got this as a gift so I dont think I would have thought to purchase it on my own but now that I know how wonderful it is I would definitely consider it a must-have.
