Customer Reviews of Fisher Price Dance Baby Dancin Band
boston Hello, The production is very good with the price of $15 including free shipping. We liked the product very much.
Great toy at sale price..
I purchased this toy for $15.00 shipped from babiesrus.com. We just received it this morning and so far my son LOVES it. I read the reviews before I bought. I figured at 15 bucks I couldnt go wrong. Yes the bear makes a noise like grinding gears when your baby holds onto it while its trying to spin but who cares. If thats what makes the baby happy then Im all for it. He loves grabbing each of the monkeys ears while its trying to spin... My son is 10 1/2 months old and is in the 97 percentile for height and seems a little to tall for the toy even on the highest setting. This seems to bother me, not him... All in All it was a great toy for the price. I would not of purchased it full price though...
It's all about the Monkey
It arrived today, I assembled it (excitedly), you must have a screw driver available and make sure the baby's far from the screws so he won't mess with it. I tried it to see if it's working and noticed that the monkey is not dancing. The horn is not doing anything at all, I just don't know they didn't make it clear. All I know is they said it wiggles and that you need to tap it, so I did, it didn't respond, nothing. So anyway, I let my baby play with it for a while. And even with the monkey not moving he's still attracted to it and kept on grabbing it sometimes trying to lean and put it in his mouth. I left for a while and when I came back the monkey's moving! I guess his grabbing is responsible, anyway, while my baby is playing with it the monkey keeps on doing stop dancing, it stops, then later on, dance, and then stop again. And in the end it finally stopped for good (?). And I still don't know what's the horn is for, so I removed it and attached it making sure that it's properly attached, I heard it clicked, and this time is better because everytime I tap the red horn it starts playing, but that's it, is that it? You just tap the red horn? How about the others? Do the horns also move? So I still don't get it's main function. I even changed the batteries (not alkaline though), because it says on the manual to replace the batteries that it came with since it might affect the performance, maybe because it's not alkaline and the batteries are used in a way, while in the box you can still press the drum and play it.

>I gave it to my baby to play with, but this time I didn't stop him hold the monkey who knows it might move again. But after 5 mins he got bored, he just gave up too trying to wake up the monkey and went on to his other incrediblock toys.

>The height adjustment is low and lower, but then this can always be used by just sitting down. My baby tried to grip the handle whenever he tries to stand and it's light that it cannot support him by holding on to it.(his 8 mos, 27 in and a little over 19 lbs).

>All in all, it looks nice, my baby finds it fun, because I see him really getting interested whenever it makes the sounds, musics and lights but then thats it, it's not interesting enough for him anymore. Take not that there are a lot of toys out there even another fisher price toy that plays music and lights like this, and the only diff is the monkey, something new and interesting, that's why he always grabs the monkey.

>My last resort is to buy alkaline batteries and see if it's going to improve, if not, then I'll give it back to Amazon and refund my money.

>I know that on most part FP makes quality and durable toys thats why this toy is a surprise to me. Fisher Price also better change the ages appropriate to play this toy, because this is definitely not for the taller and older babies. This will be more appreciated by younger babies and babies learning how to stand too. This should be from the age when the baby can properly sit up on his own until the age when the baby is too tall and too curious to pull at the monkey to break it (maybe 7-9 at the most), if they want to stick with ages then they should make it taller and make stronger toys (or monkeys) =)
