Customer Reviews of Fellowes(R) P400C-2 Personal Confetti-Cut Shredder
Weak! You can shred one page at a time - any more and it'll jam. Even with one sheet, it gets clogged from time to time. I've spent so much time picking bits of paper out of the teeth (and then vacuuming),that it's not worth my time. After one year of use, I'm going to get a more powerful one.
Good Light-Duty Shredder
I use this shredder at home to shred items containing personal information. It works just fine, I've had it for several months and it has not jammed once. I think those that have trouble with this shredder are using it more than recommended or don't understand how it works. For starters, the 5-sheets at a time rating is dependant on thickness. Fewer sheets of thicker paper can be shred at once. I listen to the shredder and if I hear it struggling, I put fewer sheets in next time. Second, the teeth continue to operate after the paper seems to have gone through. This is to clear out most of the remaining bits of paper. If the shredder is shut off manually or if more paper is inserted before it finishes this, I expect it would be a lot more likely to jam. Also, the bin tends to fill up quickly. Shreds in a full bin are likely to get caught in the teeth if shredding continues and would likely cause a jam as well. I think this is a good shredder for home use; I only wish the bin were larger.

I used to have another Fellowes shredder that worked well, so I thought this model would be just as good. This jammed ALOT... in addition, this is suppoed to shut off automatically if no paper is being fed in. Instead this would drone on and on despite no paper feed. This would still happen even if the bin was empty.
Lesson: spend the money on a decent printer. Or if the average 100$ is too much, spend less on an assumed-to-be-crappy brand. This was a major disappointment.
