In gleaming chrome and formed of many gentle curves, this two-slot toaster is classical in appearance but up-to-date in performance. Insert two slices of bread, bagel halves, or frozen waffles, and the "Down Right" feature automatically lowers them to begin the toasting process. Extra-wide slots accept artisan breads and other thick items, and seven browning settings permit precise toasting. A bagel button ensures that only the cut side will be toasted, with the crust side merely warmed, and a defrost button instructs the toaster to first thaw, then toast frozen items inserted directly from the freezer. A cancel button automatically lifts out your toast, and a crumb tray slides out of the bright black plastic base. WASTE OF MONEY
I searched for a Farberware toaster to replace the one I'd had for nearly 25 yrs. I chose this one because of it's "classic" look. I put it on my wish list and my daughter bought it for me for Christmas. In short order the thing just started sparking. This is a total waste of money. DO NOT BUY.

BAD FIRE HAZARD DO NOT USE THIS TOASTER
With no human intervention, this toaster turned it'self on and ran for quiet some time before the smoke caught our attention. The top of the toaster is totally burnt up. This thing has a mind of it's own. Do not even consider purchasing this expensive fire hazzard!

FIRE HAZARD!!
Like the experience of the previous reviewer, my toaster, too, began to turn itself on. I came home one day to find it glowing red hot. Who knows how long it had been on. The 'cancel' button had no effect. I unplugged it and tossed it.
