Customer Reviews of Fangoria

best horror magazine ever!
Fangoria always has and always will be the greatest horror magazine around. Terrific on the set previews of the latest films, retrospectives on classic films ,dvd reviews and always dependable for bloody photo's from your favorite movies.

Above and beyond: 10 Stars in my book!
I don't have a subscription, and I probably never will. So, why am I writing a positive review about a magazine I am not willing to get a subscription to? Well, the fact is, I prefer going to my local bookstore and picking up a nice fresh copy of Fangoria, minus the mailing tag on the front cover. It seems like an anal decision, but, to me, I have to have a magazine that is flawless in it's appearance, so that I can read it once over, utilize it for future information and place it in a protective magazine cover to store in with my collection.

It's been years since I first picked up my first copy of Fangoria, lying my trust in this fantastic magazine which brings to me reviews, upcoming film information and loads of information to add to my film-knowledge database. Over the years, I have seen up-and-coming individuals in the horror film genre make (and occasionally break) a name for themselves.

It is definately true that horror is the genre which appeals to the greatest audience out of all genres. People WANT to be scared, they want to see inside the mind of a serial killer, they want to watch a long-dead family member rise from the grave to seek out revenge for their murder. Who can argue against this fact? No one! Sure, it's a social generalization, and there are some people who don't watch any horror films, but, when it comes down to it, people seek out extreme emotions, and fear is one of the most sought after out of them all. In turn, Fangoria gives us the information we need to seek out the mainstream horror films, such as "Nightmare on Elmstreet" and "Halloween", but it also supplies us with indie films like "Donnie Darko" and "Devil's Backbone".

While working at Suncoast Motion Picture, I would OFTEN use Fangoria to seek out specific films to stock in my store and recommend to devoted customers. I would collect film after film, myself, and have created a library of horror films that many would be envious of. Have you ever seen "Devil's Backbone" or "Flesh for the Beast"? Probably because you haven't read about them in the best horror magazine availble on the market today.

Fangoria is for the horror lover, as well as those seeking added information on the genre which tops them all!

THE horror movie magazine for the ages.
I grew up reading Fangoria, when I could sneak it past my parents, that is. Fangoria Magazine has a total respect for the genere of horror that comes shinning through with every article. Now you are not always going to agree with everything they say, but you can always expect them to be honest. When a horror icon is not performing up to snuff, like Stephen King or John Carpenter, they will be the first to point out the errors and flaws. Fangoria also has the Chainsaw Awards, where you can mail in your vote for best horror movie, actor, ect, and you can also submit a name for Horror Hall of Fame (my guy has yet to win it). They also spot light horror films that would normaly fly under the radar of most people; like the Japanese and Italian horrors (wow, they can make some splatter flicks), and more independent films that wouldn't be showing at the mainstream theater. And they have pictures. All the blood and guts you can imagine in beautiful color (though they have become more tame compared to what it was in the '80s). This is just a great magazine to have if your a horror fan, I whole heartedly recomend it.
