Customer Reviews of Factory-Reconditioned Saeco 178435 Italia Home Espresso Cappuccino Machine, Silver
excellent espresso each and every time I don't understand all the negative reviews concerning the reconditioned saeco espresso machine? I have owned this machine for 2 1/2 years and have never had a problem. Perhaps these individuals have no idea what a espresso should taste like? Easy to maintain, simple to use, always good crema, etc. Referred to a friend, loves it. Highly recommended.
Great Coffee LEmon of a Machine
I purchased a used Saeco Italia on Ebay and for the first few espresso shots it worked great, and the coffee tasted great. A few weeks later it started leaking water from the bottom, a few weeks more it became 3+ounces of water every shot, a few weeks later the steam knob blew off. Now I have a machine without steam it leaks like crazy and most recently the electronics caused it to jam. It thinks it needs water but even though it's full of water won't reset. It's a lemon and will take $200 to fix with shipping. Good Luck Get a Warranty. Mine was made in 2004.
Great investment if you are looking to quit
The hour I plugged this machine in I was on the phone to Saeco. They walked me through adjusting the grind and the pull. I just could not get a good espresso from the thing. (Don't get me wrong, it does work. If you are happy drinking Maxwell House from a drip machine, then you'll be fine with this machine.) It never did work well for my tastes though.

>Three months later it was leaking from the steam wand and the base. Over the next 6 months it went back and forth to Saeco three times. I do not know why I didn't just throw the thing out the window. It would have made things a lot easier, and would have given me a good excuse to go out and buy a replacemment.
<
>Anyway, because the machine was discontinued, Saeco could not replace it, only continue to 'fix' mine. I told Saeco that I now hated the thing and asked that instead of continuing to 'fix' it over and over, can they send me a bare-bones non-automatic bottom-of-the-line NEW machine? They agreed.
<
>A month or so later I call them for a status: They fixed mine. They will not replace it. They are sending it in the mail. Say What!
<
>Ugh. Dejected - but not surprised, I received the machine, tested it once, packaged it back up, and stored it in the garage. Unfortunately, I put too much time and money in the thing to throw it out, and I would feel guilty if I were to sell it to someone. So it is in indefinite storage.
