Customer Reviews of Expedition Double Stroller
Whoever designed this must not have kids! I just bought this today for my 22 month old and my 7 month old, and found many inconveniences. The front wheel doesn't turn, you must prop the stroller back to turn. The design of the seat positions is very cheap, they could have at least put a handle instead of seat belt style straps. I tried jogging with it and unless you plan on running in a straight line don't bother. I have to take the front wheel off to fit it in the empty trunk of our 2002 accord sedan(which has a big trunk for a sedan). I think if they made it so the front wheel would turn they would make a lot of joggers happy! I am still deciding on whether to keep it or not. Very inexpensive compared to others however. Seems to be comfortable for my kids. If you do buy this test it out for yourself and then decide.
Works great for me . . .
Overall, this stroller has worked pretty well for me. Netting and weather shields are available at an extra cost but also worth the price. It would be nice if the "canopy" provided more shade - I have to use a blanket or a clip-on umbrella to shield my children from the sun which is not very effective in the wind. The 2 rear wheels are easily removed for transport, although I personally have a hard time toting it around (all 3 wheels need to be removed for it to fit into the empty trunk of my Accord). Definately not for shopping - it is too wide to fit between department store racks and it will not fit through many doorways. It also has a safety strap for your wrist so it won't accidentally get away from you. My kids love it, and it is great that I can see them by opening the little window above each child.
a baby enthusiast
I bought this stroller for my 2 year old and 5 month old. Considering the price, it's an excellent value. As with most joggers, you have to tilt it on it's back wheels to turn. Serious joggers do not want a stroller with a pivot wheel.
The sun canopy is good. The window is very large and its easy to see what both children are up to down there. The strollers with better sun protection are the BOB Duallie and Ditto by Dreamer Design. They both are more than 2 1/2 times the price of Baby Trend.
Storage space is excellent! The side pockets work well for keys, sunblock, sippy cups, ect. The bottom basket holds toys, towels, diaper bag, ect.
It's weight isn't as big an issue as some have said. It's on par with most other double joggers. I find it lighter and easier to put in the car than my Graco Duoglider. If you're used to holding/carrying an active toddler, the stoller is a piece of cake! It fits in the back of our Accord and very easily fits in the Odyssey with the third row of seats up. It will fit through my single front door and sliding glass door.
We did have problems with the hand brake. I took it back to BabiesRUs and in less than 5 minutes they had the brake calibrated correctly and it works fine.
I've had Baby Trend's single jogging stroller for over two years and have used it very, very hard. It has held up wonderfully. I don't store it outside, but it's been through many rainy, snowy, icey trips without rusting.
Again, unless your willing to spend three to four hundred dollars for a BOB or Ditto, you can't get a better stroller!
