On a budget and found a product worth every penny!
My Wife and I had twins recently and I went looking (about 3 hours of internet searching and reading reviews) at all kinds of different nursery monitors. I even looked at some costing over 500 dollars with built in wallmounts, ect. Pretty much every thing I read said try this one. Well they were right. Rechargable batteries. Good clear signal even between multi-floors. Durable hand sets with a easy to use switch between the base (the babies room) and the other hand set. Easy to use. durable and reliable. Good volumn control. Good response from manufacture and from Amazon when a switch went bad. Can't ask for more than that even if it cost twice what I paid. I strongly recommend this set and product. I have used others and they can't touch this one. My babies and more importantly my wife's emotional well being were a serious consideration on finding something that would make them feel safe and in communication. After 3 months of continous use, I can't imagine a better choice. It even allows us as adults to have quiet time casue we know we can hear everything even the slightest wimper. Do yourself a favor and buy this. <

Don't waste your money
We purchased this because of the walkie talkie feature between the 2 parent units. Don't bother. Whenever any of the 3 units get within 10 feet of each other they let out a squeal that would wake the neighbor's baby! What's the point of having a feature that allows you to clip the parent unit onto your belt if you can't then walk into the baby's room wearing it without it sounding like a police siren???? <

Works well with some room for improvement
We bought this as a replacement when our still fairly new Fisher-Price brand monitor that we got as a shower gift died suddenly. <

>The Evenflo whisper works well, picking up sound and transmiting it without much distortion, which means we can keep the volume down. <

>However, here are a few issues that may or may not concern others. First, the walkie-talkie function is nice, but the button to page the base station in the baby's room and the button to page the other monitor are right next to each other. It's just too darn easy to accidentally hit the wrong one. I don't need to be calling my wife and wake up the baby instead by mistake. <

>Second, when you have the base station and one monitor on already and turn on the second monitor, the first one gives out a loud beep. I suppose this is to let you know if someone is listening in or something. Unfortunately, in our case, my wife goes to bed before me and puts the monitor on. Usually sometime after she's in bed I'll notice the one in my office is off, but if I turn it on I'll disturb my wife. <

>Third, and this is a theoretical issue rather than practical, there are only two channels. Other sets have had 10 channels, although I'm not sure if those were actual effective channels or just marketing hype. In any case, we haven't had interference with other monitors or devices yet so it's not become an issue. <
