A fast, easy alternative to ironing, this garment steamer shoots high-velocity steam jets out of a 5-1/2-inch-wide head to smooth any fabric from sheer to the thickest woolen without scorching it and without leaving behind the "shine" an iron can. Its speed, ease, and mobility (on big, rubber-tire wheels) explain why garment steamers like this are so popular backstage in the fashion and entertainment fields. This one employs a 1,500-watt motor to heat up in about two minutes. The steamer head comes with a detachable brush that can be snapped in place to capture lint during steaming. A removable 1-gallon water tank provides up to 90 minutes of steaming time. The steamer rolls to work for steaming drapes and curtains, or garments can be brought to it and hung on a hook that connects to a sturdy chrome rod that telescopes up to 60 inches high. For storage, the steamer head clips to the rod. The steamer's plastic-clad base measures 16 inches long, 13-1/2 inches high (including water tank), and 11 inches wide. This is a piece of junk!
Struggled with this item for a year now. It works sporadically, doesn't steam that well, and the on off switch continually malfunctions. It is cheaply made of plastic and some of the paint has melted off. It is tippy and the water reservoir has a poorly fitting plastic cap that leaks if you can ever get it on to begin with. DON'T BUY.

It was fine until it began leaking
I've had this steamer for about 6 months and was pleased with it (in spite of its hose which is too short to reach the top of my drapes) until a few days ago when it suddenly began leaking hot water all over the floor. Fortunately, I purchased it from a store with a great return policy. It is going back to the store today.

Definitely does the job
Despite the other reviews on this page, I got this steamer as an early wedding gift and I love it. I even used it to steam my dress (and I saved a bundle). <
