In our tests of the 777, we loved the speedy setup. Color and black ink cartridges snapped in easily with no mess or mistakes. A foldout guide walked us through clearly and thoroughly detailed steps to get running. Epson also covers printer basics for the novice in their user's guide. Software loaded intuitively, though the useful electronic printer manual was a bit fanciful.
We printed a variety of images on some of the specialty papers that Epson included in the box. We selected the photo enhancement setting to improve brightness and contrast when printing photos, and the 777 handled these printing jobs with pleasing results. With quiet print operation, we were undisturbed on the telephone or deep in conversation.
You can expect to get about 400 to 600 pages of black printing, or under 300 for color, before replacing the cartridges. With automatic ink-low and ink-out detection, you can track how much ink you have left with the onscreen progress display during printing. A 100-sheet input tray accepts a wide range of standard papers, envelopes, and many specialty media, including labels, photo paper, and card stock holding up to 30 pages of output at one time.
We appreciated the 777's sleek look--clean curved lines in soft gray--and its compact design. The 777's small footprint measures just 10 by 6.8 by 17.7 inches to save desk or counter space; it weighs a movable 8.4 pounds.
The 777 comes with Corel Print House 2000 for photo editing, Epson Software Film Factory for image editing and Trellix Web for creating Web pages. It is also supplied with driver software for most Windows or Macintosh systems and for USB connectivity. The unit is backed by a one-year warranty. --David Greenberger

Customer Reviews of Epson Stylus 777 Color Inkjet Printer
SLOW NOISY INK GLUTTON This printer came as part of a computer package deal so I didn't actually pick it out. It WORKED fine & dandy for 2 years, the speed & noise were no big deal. Expensive ink is just the nature of the beast with inexpensive inkjets! <
>Then it suddenly conked out & no amount of new drivers, (very little) help from maker, or reinstalling would work. <
>Repair would have been $90 just to LOOK at it, so I said forget it & bought an HP1209 3-in-1 for $79!! <
>When it first stopped working, the trouble lights indicated low ink (though I print rarely & it had nearly full cartridges) <
>But I bought 2 new ones which of course didn't help & I now have 2 sets of no use to me that will only fit Epson 777 or 777i models. Wish I could unload them REAL cheap on someone whose 777 or 777i still works!!
Worked great , then went to crap
I got this printer brand new at CompUSA 4 years ago for only $40 (a new store opening celebration). It worked great until I put a generic cartridge in there. All it did was streak and clog the heads. When I finally found a cartridge that worked the gears and belts went to crap!! The estimate for repair was $60. I threw the printer out a 6 story window.
Epson Stylus Color 777
The Epson Stylus Color 777 is a pretty tough little printer. It prints pictures on photo paper that looks like you had them professionally printed. I love the speed of this thing. A full color picture takes only a few minutes to print.

Quiet Print
Fast Print
Quality
Cons:
Small Paper Tray
Expensieve Ink Cartridges
