Customer Reviews of Ep
3.5 Stars... Intended for the Avid MB20 Fan As a casual fan of MB20, I picked this up really cheap, and while this is not a bad collection, it certainly is not essential either, except prob for the avid MB20 (which I'm not).
"EP" (6 tracks, 23 min.) is a collection of live, in-studio live and unreleased tracks. The best include "If You're Gone" and "Disease", both finding Rob Thomas essentially by himself with his accoustic guitar, and reworking well-know tracks quite effectively. I also liked the live version of "All I Need". The new song is "Suffer Me", a leftover of the "Mad Season" sessions; it is a good, up-tempo song, and makes me wonder why it didn't make the final "Mad Season" album tracklist. In all, "EP" is aimed for the MB20 fans, and in that sense delivers.

Coming from Matchbox Twenty, this EP could not be anything but amazing, beautiful, and listenable over and over and over.
It contains 6 songs (5 different versions of old songs and 1 new song) and 5 video clips on the enhanced portion of the CD from a concert right before their MTYTYA tour this year.
The new song, Suffer Me, is VERY good...it has the feel of a song from their Mad Season era, but the lyrics are more of a story than most of MBT's songs. It sounds kinda like a mix between Real World and Black And White People, with a MTYTYA feel.
The live songs are good too - If You're Gone is not really live, but acoustic in studio...and is almost as good as the CD version. It makes you want to cry just listening to it. All I Need live is very good, with Kyle's electric lead guitar standing out more just as on live versions of the new single, Bright Lights. Push live is good as always, full of emotion, listenable forever. Disease acoustic is very pretty, but not quite up to the quality of the other songs on the EP. And lastly, the Crutch (Jazz version) from VH1 Storytellers is pretty and completely unique.
The video clips are also good...ranging from songs from the new album, You're So Real and Hand Me Down, to songs from Mad Season and Yourself Or Someone Like You - Long Day, If You're Gone, and Push. It also has clips of the band between videos.
And the conclusion - this EP is cheap - BUY it. It'll be worth more than most full-length albums you buy.
EP-Wow!
I bought this album just as it came out. I think it is fantastic!
The acoustic versions of "If Your Gone" and "Disease" are simply wonderful. Typical Matchbox and typical Rob Thomas! Everything you would expect from them and more!
