Customer Reviews of Elmo Peek-A-View Mirror
Great idea... works great... Just a couple of issues. This mirror has been GREAT for driving in the car with my baby. I can see exactly what she's doing, and the field of view is much bigger than expected. I can flip the rear view mirror down, and it's in perfect position to line up with the Elmo mirror. The mirror itself was quite easy to position - baby is in the middle of the back seat, so I put the mirror right over the top of the folding armrest, and didn't even have to adjust it. It was perfect.
However, my issue is this: I have leather seats in my Saturn wagon, and I am NOT ABOUT TO stick an adhesive piece of velcro on the leather, and I'm not going to use the safety pin either (both are included). I had to come up with a solution that wouldn't damage my seats. What I did was put a big nut (as in nuts & bolts) on the safety pin, and close it up in the folding armrest so that it wouldn't slide out. It stays positioned pretty well, and I didn't have to ruin my leather seats. I would like to challenge the manufacturer to come up with a better solution than this... like a longer strap, so you could attach it to the back of the seat (where it's upholstered, not leather)...
Other than the included fasteners, this is a great product, and I highly recommend it.
Baby loves it
We've had this mirror for 6 months and love it. I have a Honda CR-V and bought a large mirror (forget the name), but it was so large it obstructed my view. (The CR-V had a middle headrest you can remove and I've always kept it off, so maybe it's just me and I'm not used to the obstruction). Actually, my husband bought the Elmo mirror for his car because he thought our son would like looking at it and he's right. In fact, I drive the baby more places so I stole the Elmo mirror from him and am glad I did. The size is big enough to keep and eye on our baby but small enough that it doesn't get in the way. The only problem is our son loves Elmo amd sometimes cries because he wants to grab him, even though he has other toys to play with. Everytime we take him out of his seat, he has to put Elmo's nose in his mouth. Very functional, cute, and fun
A must for riding in the car with baby!
I absolutely love this mirror!!! Not only is it really cute, and large enough for a good view of baby, But as my daughther is getting older, she loves to look at Elmo , chat with him, and pat him as I put her in her seat or pick her up! Elmo has become her buddy, and is always there for her... especially when we go for longer rides in the car...
Buy it... You'll not regret it....
P.S: For leather seats just use the velcro option... for fabric seats, pin Elmo in place!!!
