Customer Reviews of Ellispa EX Travel System - Sapphire
Saved a life, but some simular complaints Ok, I was in a car accident on the 23rd. The Car seat saved my boy. I was rear-ended at 35 miles an hour TWICE, idiots on their cell phone, of course. Long story short, I broke my front tooth teeth broke a molar and cracked another molar, not to mention back, neck, shoulder, collarbone injuries. Plus the steering wheel bruise across my eye and nose. I was wearing my seatbelt. but I'm 5'2, and sit very close to the steering wheel. Anyways, my 10 week old son ( at time of accident)was in the car seat, and the handle was in the car position. He has not a single injury. Although due to the number and severity of the impacts, the handle is damaged, buckled a bit, ( yes we are in the process of ordering a new one, and if we didn't have the matching stroller, i probably would at least look at another system. I love the stroller, even though the thing is MAMMOTH, which I kind of like, We call it the "Escalade". And I love the color. I'm Very happy my son was not hurt, I thank God for that. But here are my issues with the Elipsa...... <
>1. The car seat canopy does NOT line up well with the seat, either it shifts forward while carrying it exposing the back of my babys head to the rain, or it just doesn't cover the front as completely as it should. Maybe I installed it the wrong way... could be my fault. <
>2. The mesh covering over the basket of the stroller is cumbersome. I RARELY use the basket for this reason. <
>3. It seems weird that the seat has to be fully erect to collapse the stroller. <
>4. Some times the seat is difficult to recline from the erect postion ( I only do so to put the car seat in). <
>5. The car seat doesn't recline as much as I thought it would. My son Loves his car seat. It looks a bit uncomfortable to me, but he has never fussed in his seat. (except when we got hit). Some times when we go grocery shopping we have to put a box or rolled up towel under the front of the seat, or he leans real far forward. almost sitting up right, I like him to be slightly reclined, so there isn't so much pressure on his neck. but on some shopping carts its not even an issue. <
>6. The infant padded head rest is akward. Its a weird design, doesn't really stay in place, isn't real secure (only 2 ribbon (thin) type ties (with velcro) that hold it into place, I have a pretty high IQ (145.... not bragging, obviously grammar and spelling are relative + I have oxycodone on board from the accident, so sorry), but I can't figure out how its sposed to go, I did the best I could to attach it, but I re-attach it every other day.) <
>I haven't had occasion to use the stroller alone yet... At this point, He's still in his car seat when he's in the stroller. I hope its not as uncomfortable as I have been reading. I have an 8 yr old and had a Graco when she was little. This is 10 x better then the supposidly "top-of-the-line" one I had back then. I love that it collapses on its wheels insted of the "bar" I love that it has a snack tray. I love that it pops out. I love that it has cup holders, a sunglass box, an extra pouch. I love the metallic blue, I love the ergonomic handle. We have gotten alot of compliments on it. It is heavy.... but I rode the bus with my graco 8 years ago, so I'm not going to complain about the weight of the 3 times a week I pick up the stroller. (thats what I have a man for :D, ha ha ha) <
>Anyways, the oxy's are making me ramble. Just thought I'd share.
Junk!
DO NOT BUY THIS TRAVEL SYSTEM! The car seat sits too far forward not allowing baby's head to rest against the back of seat. The belt buckles are ALWAYS tangled up and it's extremely difficult to tighten them to desired length once baby is already in the seat let alone when baby's not even in the seat. The break pad broke from the stroller approx. 1 month after using it and there's already a tear in the handle grip after only 2 months of use. The sun visor on the car seat sits too far off the top of the seat and consistently falls behind the seat....furthermore, I think it's plain uncomfortable for baby's back....she's always squirming to get out of this seat...I'm buying something new. Burlington Coat Factory doesn't accept returns....very dissapointed!!!!!!!
The worst product ever
I thought my new baby boy would love this stroller not only because it is absolutely beautiful but it had alot of perks. Well this stroller is the worst junk I have ever seen. The foot boot does not detach. It weighs 50 lbs. It does not fit in my compact car. (trunk nor back seat) The car seat included is designed at a 90 degree angle so my tiny sons neck layed forward. It killed me to see him so uncomfortable. Please do not buy this product because it looks good and is advertised so heavily. I returned it. It was not worth it !!
