Great Unexpected Storyline
Based on the previews, I wasn't ecpecting "Ella Enchanted" to be anything more than a lighthearted exceuse to cash in on the popular princess craze that strikes every little girl. I was completely wrong. "Ella Enchanted" has a great story and a great cast. The only thing this film fails to do is be funny, and it appears to try. The story is a mixture of popular fairytales. When Ella(Anne Hathaway) was born, her nutty fairy godmother(Vivica A. Fox) bestowed upon the baby the gift of obedience(Sleeping Beauty). The spell causes Ella to do everything she is told, and she can't stop it from happening. Her father marries a mean woman who comes with excess baggage, two wicked daughters(Cinderella). So Ella grows up miserable because of her curse and her step sisters. When she gets fed up with the curse, she sets out to find her fairy godmother and get her to take back the spell. On the way, she joins up with an elf who wants to be a lawyer and a Prince who is about to take the throne. Naturally, the Prince and Ella fall in love, but the plot thickens as the Prince's evil uncle has plans to stay king. The story really blew me away, seeing as I hadn't read the book. This movie also has some cool modernized enviornments in Ella's world, including a wooden escalator. The modernization reminded me of "The Flintstones," how the stone age had all of the modern conveniences. The acting was great and you even get to hear Anne Hathaway sing(and she is good!).

I must warn parents that this film has a PG rating due to a dark twist in the plot. No matter how much they beg you, this film is not sutible for children under the age of 8. However, I leave that to your judgement. There is no foul language and the fighting in the film is very tame, mostly done with cool special effects. Also, there is an oger in the film with a plumber [but] that parents might not want their kids to see, I personally didn't find it offensive. "Ella nchanted" is a great film to take your family to, but leave the really little ones with a sitter. By the way, I didn't hear any boys who where draged to see it complaining, so I would assume that they liked it.

'Enchanting' Tale for all Ages!
"Ella Enchanted" is an enchanting and surprising film. I did not know what to expect before seeing it. I am glad I did. The talented Anne Hathaway and the handsome and talented Hugh Dancy are absolutely great in the roles of Ella and Prince Charmont. They give the characters vibrant life. "Ella" is a great story about following your heart and dreams. I have seen the movie twice and enjoyed it even more the second time. "Ella" is an 'enchanting' tale for all ages. The movie has a lot of humor, action and heart. I have never read the novel and I don't plan on doing so. The movie is excellent and I cannot wait for it to come out on DVD to add to my collection. For everyone out their who loves superior quality, family friendly, and all around great movies, "Ella Enchanted", to me, is the movie to see. Enjoy!

VERY BAD
THE FILM STUNK IF I WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE ILL GO BUY THE BOOK I READ THE BOOK IN SCHOOL AND IT WAS AWSOME! I SAID THAT I WAS GOING TO BUY IT BUT I SAW IT IN THE MOVIE THEATERS AND IT WAS BAD!!!!!! WARNING DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GO BUY CONFESSIONS OF A TEEN AGE DRAMA QUEEN! THIS FILM STINKS IT SHOULD NOT EVEN GET A STAR AND THATS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING: WASTE OF MONEY!!!!
