Customer Reviews of Eddie Bauer Tandem Stroller - Blanchard
just okay Well, after much research and the return of a Peg Perego Duette, which though beautiful was like pushing a mini bus without wheels, I ultimately purchased this Eddie Bauer Double Stroller. At the time of my second childs birth I liked that I could use my Eddie Bauer Infant Seat, that both seats and I had trays and that the front seat was reversible and loving my Eddie Bauer Travel System I figured this could'nt be too far off. It is very big, almost too big for me at an average 5'5" and quite heavy to push and lift but it is sturdy and has done the job, though I don't enjoy using it nearly as much as I did my single. I've learned to avoid non smooth surfaces, the sligtest bit of terrain and you'll need to be a bodybuilder to push this! No one who has pushed my kids in it has liked it much and when my mom takes them for walks she prefers to have two singles with my brother pushing one than using this. She has only used it once and though she is bigger than me will not use this one again. The under carriage basket, though long and deep can become difficult to reach if the front seat is facing you and/or if the backseat is reclined. Though this basket appears bigger I actually fit more in the one on my single. The parent tray and cup holder is not nearly as big or deep as on my single but I added an aftermarket cup holder as I like my coffee and waters. Folding is easy but awkward as to use the lock to keep it closed you have to reverse the front wheels on mine so that they fit snug and usually the plastic lever lock unhinges though when finally adjusted correctly it can stand on it's own. I usually forgo this and just heave it into my SUV, in which it does take up quite a bit of space but fits fine. (I just pile the grocery bags on and around it!) My older baby's legs were just making it under the trays last year when my second baby was born and the trays have always had to be removed to get him into either seat. Now a year later he really only fits in the backseat which is quite a bit bigger than the front and has a much better canopy (the canopy on the front is openbacked and essentially useless but if your good with needle and thread and a bit creative you can solve this fairly easily) so I have no choice but to put my little one in the front facing me. I liked having the option as there is better napping abilities in the back and virtually none in the front. We're moving on now that my baby has outgrown the infant carseat and considering the newer version of the Dreamer Design Ditto Jogging Stroller with the optional swivel wheel system. It's the only double jogger with individual canopies and truly double seats, not one big one with two harnesses. It has lots of pockets and four water bottle compartments and a decent size basket underneath considering it is a jogger. It's gotten some pretty great reviews and everyone who has used it through doorways has done so successfully. Though we'll lose the trays my kids love so much they'll both have a very comfy ride and be able to nap while being easily pushed. I'm sure we'll come up with some sort of tray system with a little creativity. (And as for me I plan on attaching a Bob parent console for my coffee...)
Great stroller
Well I personally really like this stroller because of two things the front seat can go either direction and the fact that the handlebar is high enough for me (5'10) it is nice to not have a backache after all day at disneyland! It works really well for us even though it has gotten to heavy for me to lift (due to being 9 months pregnant). I do recomend this stroller it is nice for twins or for kids close in age that are not too active. The straps are a litlle difficult to adjust but it is not hard to figure out after a few tries. Good Luck with this stroller!
Great Stroller if you have a car it fits in
My advice to anyone purchasing a double stroller online: If you own a car measure your trunk space FIRST before you buy...or better yet, don't buy online unless you've had a chance to see the stroller in person first. Some people may be a bit shocked at how big/heavy these really are...even when folded up! I know I really was!

>Thank God I didn't buy this stroller new, but purchased at a garage sale for only $20. I understand why they sold it in such mint condition...they probably couldn't take it anywhere!

>I have a BMW 540, which has a nice large trunk. I've also tried to fit it in an Oldsmobile Cutlass, a Ford Focus, an Audi A4, and a Nissan Maxima. This stroller is about 2 inches too long to fit in most car trunks from any angle. Kudos to the reviewer who owns a Toyota Camry that this monster fits in!! Unfortunately when it was purchased, I was with a friend with a truck. :o( I never would have considered that it wouldn't fit. This would not be an option for someone with a compact car, or limited trunk space. Also, if you CAN fit it in your trunk, don't plan on doing a lot of shopping, or storing a lot of stuff in your trunk as it will take to nearly ALL your trunk space.

>We've only been ableto use this stroller on our property for walks. As a positive, I find it works well on grass...I personally don't have a problem pushing it on unpaved ground.

>The cup holder doesn't hold drinks securely....make sure you have a drink with a lid that's not glass if you use it.

>We've never had an instance to use the storage since we've only used it at home. Infact, we removed it.

>It does provide a smooth ride, and my 6'5" husband appreciates the higher handle...he usually gets a stiff neck with other strollers we've had.
