Customer Reviews of Eddie Bauer Manchester All-Terrain Tandem Stroller - Manchester Print
Contrary to other reviews...this strollers terrific!! This stroller is terrific! I have the same model (just last years model w/ different pattern and no snack tray for rear seat). I needed a stroller where the front seat could face backwards so my 2 3/4 yr old & 1 yr old can face each other. The stroller is awesome! I am surprised by the other reviews because so many of them complain about it's weight being so heavy. The stroller is actually VERY light for a double stroller. Once you put the kids in that adds a lot of weight but that isn't fault of the stroller. It is a little long (esp w/front seat facing rear) but it just takes a day w/it to learn how to manuever it. I put it together in less than 20 minutes w/ no tools! The underbasket is big and easy to reach and parent cup tray is VERY sturdy. The steering is the best I've had. It swivels and steers so easy/lightly. The canopys are great with little windows and also little mesh vents on each side to let air flow which is great when you want to really pull them down far to block out all the light/noise for sleeping babies/kids. If I had to think of one negative...the only one is the front seat DOESN'T recline. Which stinks only because they both have thier "normal" spots and I have to switch them if one wants to fall asleep in the "non" sleeping seat. But that being the only negative it's worth it since there are only 2 strollers offered with a reversing front seat (excluding very high prices designer strollers upwards of $400-500)
Great for bigger toddlers!
I have a VERY large 2 year old (40 pounds already, he won't turn 3 until Aug 2004) and I am also 8 months pregnant. My challenge was to find a stroller that my 2 year old would actually fit in without his legs dragging on the wheels. I really wish the manufacturers of strollers (especially umbrella strollers!) would realize there are bigger kids out there just like there are different sizes of people - he's really tall for his age. I looked at the Duo-Glider as well as this stroller, but this one has the wheels tucked under the front seat when it is facing forward, so there's no way for my toddler to plant his feet on the wheels and they also don't drag on the floor. The tray in front does come off, but he still fits with the tray on. I also like that you can get to the basket fairly easily as compared to some of the others, and that the back seat can recline flat for an infant. It's a bit heavy but my son isn't ready to walk around on his own yet, plus it's good to have extra muscles to carry around two kids anyway! :)
please help me put this together
I bought the tandem stroller second-hand at a yard sale. I took it all apart and washed it and am now trying to put it vback together. I need help remembering how to put the back seat cover on. How does the top of the seat go? Also, where do the elastic bands fit that are a part of the front and back seats? The stroller is great, but I need a little help to get it together again. Thank you.
