Good, not great carseat !!
I actually have this exact car seat in a charcoal gray cloth and the matching stroller (purchased from eddie bauer.com). I debated between this and the Graco,however i did not like any of the tried and true navy or busy patterns on the Graco strollers. The stroller is absolutely great, nice and lightweight. If you have LATCH in your car, this seat base secures great and does not budge at all. My baby likes the seat, it seems very comfy but a bit larger (and heavier) than the Gracos. We have a car with LATCH and one without and even though I went to inspection site, I do not like the way it moves around in my car without the LATCH. The handle is hard to move and yes it does click very loudly in place (potentially waking your sleeping baby). I think the straps are easy to adjust (from the back) I think any seat would be heavy and hard to manueuver with a 15 - 20 lb. baby in it...I am looking forward to using a rear facing convertible car seat in the near future. I feel this seat is adequate, but the I think the only complaints I have , I would have with any other seat as well...

FABULOUS baby seat!
I received this carseat as a gift for my 4th child back in November 2003. It is an absolutely gorgeous car seat and I am definitely going to purchase the 3-in-1 convertable in the very near future! The material is very easy to clean. The straps have never become twisted as stated in previous comments. Yes, it's heavy, but aren't they all with a 20 pound baby in it?? Like I said, this is the 4th carseat I've had to use in the past 11 years and I felt that my baby was the most safe in the Eddie Bauer Designer 22 Infant Car Seat. It is very durable. The padding inside is an absolute MUST. Keeps baby's head in the correct position. Something that has never been accomplished even with the inserts you can purchase separately for other car seats.

Once you practice the 5 point harness a couple of times, it's like second nature. I am very secure with the fact that if I am in an accident, my baby is going nowhere! I also like the fact that it comes up high on the sides. If my car is absolutely crushed, all parts of my baby will be nestled deep inside the carseat. He is 7 months old, 20 pounds and still fits perfectly in this carseat. When he hits his 22 pound max or grows in length, we'll be getting the upright car seat. (he's been 20 pounds since his 4 month checkup!)

I highly recommend this car seat and wish they had this available 11 years ago!

THE BEST CAR SEAT
My husband, and I LOVE this car seat. So does our baby girl. It is SO soft, and during the winter months it helped keep her snug, and warm. She LOVES to feel the different textures of the fabrics. The safety belt is soft too unlike some. After having used three different car seats for our other three children this by FAR has been the BEST one. It has style, convenience, and comfort, and it is EASY to install. It is not too heavy, and the colors are great. Also it is comfortable to carry. It is EASY to put baby in, and take out. The orange "Push" button on the safety belt is not TOO hard to push unlike some others we tried out at the store, and we love how the safety belt is designed to fit securely, and comfortably around baby. Our daughter is almost 9 months old, and weighs 17 pounds. It's almost time to buy a new one. We are planning on buying the Eddie Bauer Manchester 3 in one Elite Car Seat. I hope it lives up to the infant car seat! I would HIGHLY recommend this infant car seat!
