Customer Reviews of Eddie Bauer 4-in-1 Travel System - Hamilton
Not recommended I have had this travel system for about 6 months, and up until a few months ago it has done it's job. But now that my son is older (and heavier) I am looking for a new stroller. The car seat did seem very comfortable & relitavely easy to use. After 3 months (little one now weights 18 lbs) of use however, the handle became quite loose and wobbly and the canopy never stays up-either falling forward on my son or back-leaving him sitting in the sun glare-very annoying-especially while in the middle of a trip! After having problems with the straps loosening in the middle of a drive, I purchased a Britax (before the recall notice). As for the stroller-not very easily maneuverable-even with two hands. Also, now that my son is getting big, the stroller wheels (all of them) squeek and hum every time I use it. I get strange looks from people wondering what that noise is. The footrest is unstable & becomes dislodged and rubs against the wheels. I would not recommend this system & I am currently shopping around for a better model.
I Love This Travel System!
My husband and I recieved this for our first child in August of 2003. The car seat snapped in the base and stroller so nicely. You do have to check and tighten the seat belt straps for the base often, but who wouldn't! The stroller is sturdy, but not too heavy. I am 6 months pregant and I don't have a problem lifting this into the back of my suv. However, we plan on purchasing the Eddie Bauer Tandem Stroller soon, as our second baby is due in September 2005. Overall, I highly reccomend this travel system!

I, too, am surprised by some of these reviews. I've had this travel system for a year now - got it when my daughter was born and she just turned one. For the person who said the stroller is too heavy especially for new and petite mommies...what did you expect for a TRAVEL SYSTEM? I am also a new mommy (petite...5'1", 118 lbs.) and didn't have any trouble taking it in and out of the car (I have a Honda Pilot). I also haven't had any trouble taking it in and out of my parents' car trunk (Grand Marquis). Of course, it won't be as light as LIGHT STROLLER, but because it has all the wonderful features...i.e., LARGE basket (holds SO MUCH!!!), removeable tray for baby, 2 cup holders + compartment, reclining back (nice for when baby needs to take a nap - even has a flap that lifts up so baby's legs can lay straight!), etc. But even with all these wonderful features, I found it quite easy to take in and out of the car after doing it a few times. Although it IS a larger stroller compared to most, all you have to do is grab each end of the stroller to lift it up into the car. Heck, if you have an SUV the wheels make it easy to roll into the back. Again, it will be more bulky than others when collapsed because of the extra added features!

>As for the people having trouble with the seat belt straps twisting...I like that the straps are softer than others so it's not so harsh on my daugher. Yes, my straps have twisted on me; but, I've FIGURED OUT (rather than getting frustrated) that if I just take a few extra seconds to put the straps to the side then I have no problem getting my daughter seated without twisting them. When they do get twisted, again, don't get frustrated. Stay calm, use some common sense...simply untwist them. If any part of the buckle (especially the puzzle piece) has been twisted so it's backwards, just fold the strap in half so that you can slide the buckle over it and reverse it.

>Really, all those complaints are just minor problems compared to all the wonderful features this system has. I've gotten so many compliments, taken it EVERYWHERE (it's great to shop with to carry all your bags; sports games so you can load blankets, food, toys, diaper bag, and have a place for baby to sleep; etc.), love the fact that I could either keep my baby in the infant seat and attach it to the stroller (when she was younger) or put her in the stroller facing forward (which, by the way, also has an infant head rest if you don't want to take the infant seat out - I agree, that part is quite heavier than others when toting an infant in it). OH! And when I did put the infant seat in the stroller, my daughter easily took naps because the canopies from the seat and the stroller would overlap one another to completely cover her and leave it dark. And for those people having trouble collapsing the stroller, squeeze in and slide left at the same time. As with all things when you're a new mommy, you get better with practice (and need to use some common sense and patience!!!!)
