Customer Reviews of Eddie Bauer - Aluminum Travel System with LATCH - Morgan
Very easy to use I recieved this travel system for my shower. I registered for it because it was so easy to maneuver through the BRU store. I liked the color and pattern of the fabric since we did not know if we were having a boy or girl.
We brought the baby home from the Hospital in the car seat, and were amazed at how well he fit into it. In fact, the hospital staff commented on how nice the seat was. We did not find it too heavy- in fact, we wanted a heavier, durable, safe seat for our baby- even if it meant leaving the seat in the car. The seat snaps right into the base with ease. As for the handles- hold the red tabs in while securing back. They do not make any noise if done correctly. As for the sunshade.. Make sure it is on correctly. We had it backwards at first, but now that it is on properly, we have had no problems. Also, make sure the front wheel locks/breaks are not on. We also thought the stroller had poor steering, but once the breaks were released, it was perfect.
There are only a couple of negative things about the car seat:
1. There is no ball attached to the seat to ensure a correct incline while secured in the car. Most other infant seats have this feature.
2. The seat does not secure to most store carts. The slits are too low, and when you put it on the cart, the baby is at a serious downward angle. I have tried attaching it every which way; it just doesn't work. This does make grocery shopping challenging..
As for the stroller, it is great! Very easy to use, and it collapses with ease. It is a little big for traveling, so we did purchase a lightweight stroller for that.
Only a couple of negatives for the stroller:
1. The wheels do squeak- even with WD-40.
2. I wish the seat attached to the stroller without the bar like the Graco systems.
Overall, it is a great product, and I would purchase it again.
For those who want an infant seat for greater than 20-22 lbs/ 26 inches.. Cosco makes the Opus 35 and Designer 35, which go to 35lbs, 35 inches. I did have to purchase one, due to the fact my son is 3 mos.old and weighs 19 pounds and measures 28 inches!
EXCELLENT TRAVEL SYSTEM, PLEASE READ!!!
My husband and I have the Eddie Bauer travel system and we love it. My child is now a year old and we just now took her out of the infant seat. I have absolutely no complaints about the stroller or carseat. Sure, the carrier is a little heavy but I am 105lbs and have never had any trouble carrying her in it. Once she was about 8 months we just left the carseat in the car and she could ride in a cart. As far as the red buttons you have to push in to get the handle to come up, if you just keep them pushed in it won't click very loud at all. The people who wrote that it didn't steer well at all must have had the brakes on! This is by far the best manuvering stroller made, and we tested a lot. If your wheels are squeeking just put a little WD-40 on them! I can't imagine why anyone would be dissatisfied with this travel system. My husband and I had went through 2 other travel systems before taking them back and finally deciding on this one. I had read so many bad reviews that I was convinced this wasn't the one for me. I sure am glad that we decided to get this one. I think I would be very unhappy with the others. Oh, one more excellent thing about it, at least when you go to fold the stroller it doesn't collapse on the ground unlike the rest. We didn't find one stroller that could be folded up right and was self supporting besides this one. Before you take yours back, stop and think about folding up the stroller in a huge puddle of water, wouldn't that be nice!?!
Some troubles, but Cosco worked it out
When I first got this system home, neither I or my husband could move the handle on the car seat without really pulling or pushing hard. I emailed Cosco and they sent out a replacement. The replacement works fine. Yes Cosco was a little slower than I'd like about responding, but they did respond and fix the issue.
I like the fact that when the stroller folds, it doesn't fold flat to the ground. This means I can still wheel it around, like straight into a closet or corner of the room.
