Customer Reviews of Eddie Bauer - 3 in 1 Car Seat with LATCH - Morgan
This seat is great! I am on child number 3, and have bought a collective 8 carseats in the past 5 years (including the boosters). I just talked my expectant sister into buying this one. The movements on this are really smooth, as far as the reclining mechanism. Also, the latches are very safe and hard for smart toddlers to undo for themselves. We looked at this in the showroom, comparing many models of car seats at the same time, and this one actually seems to recline more than some of the others. No matter what carseat you get, if you have seats in your car that angle downward, your carseat won't recline enough for a newborn. Two things you can do about that. One, use the tether strap when it is rear facing, and tighten the heck out of it until it forces the seat to level out more (that's what we did, and believe me that baby is level and not moving an inch-of course we now have a dent in our seat). Two, there is a wedge available in catalogs that goes under the foot of rear facing car seats to help level it out more for infants. An infant carrier is always more convenient for brand new babies, so you should always plan on having that as well as a convertable carseat. But, about the time they reach 15 lbs. or so, forget about the infant carrier, it's time to move up to the convertable!! Important note, all babies must ride rear facing until they are 20 lbs. AND 1 years old. The nice thing about this carseat, is they can safely ride backwards until 30 lbs, as some babies pass the 20 lbs. mark before they turn 1. I would buy it, but already have 8 carseats as I mentioned before!
Love It!
I have had this car seat for over a year now and LOVE IT! I just now was reading the reviews due to baby #2 arriving soon and felt the urge to sing my PRAISES of this car seat. We purchased it for our 3 month old son while on vacation and used it to drive him home in (400+ miles) and he was VERY content in it the whole drive! He is now 20 months old and STILL loves his seat. In fact when ever we have removed it and set it inside the house he tends to take his snacks and sit in his car seat to eat.
In addition to a great seat for a great price, the customer service people at Costco are GREAT!!! We misplaced a piece of the carseat neaded when we changed cars and they promptly sent us a replacement.
I am buying a second of these car seats for my baby due in October and strongly recommend it to other moms/dads. It's a good seat for infants AND toddlers, easy clean up, easy installation and removal AND adjustments as baby/toddler grows. PLUS it's very eye-pleasing, hard to find at an affordable price!
wonderful seat
We used the infant carrier untill my daughter out grew it, and then we switched to this car seat. I loved it from the start. The biggest problem I had with it rear facing, was moving it from car to car because you go under the linning, and I was worried it would tear up the underlinning, but it didn't (and it was moved A LOT). I have NEVER had problems with twisted straps, and my daughter has been using this for over a year now.
Recently, my parents got a toddler/booster seat for my 20 month old, and it has seperate snaps for the lock for both sides. After dealing with a fighting, crying, squirming toddler in both seats...THE PUZZLE LOCK IS 100% BETTER!!! I get them linned up really quickly, and then just snap it in, with the other lock, I snapped one side, and then she squirmed more and I couldn't get the other side snapped in. (keep in mind that if you try to put one side in (I think it's the one shapped like an A), sometimes it triggers the bar to come out, but the piece will still come back out, however the other piece will not go in. If you put one piece in without the other, you may have to push the red release button in order to get it to work.
If you have problems with it not reclining enough in rear facing.....here's a helpful tip I got. BUY A POOL NOODLE (you can get them at Wal-Mart and like stores for like $2) CUT ABOUT 18 INCHES OFF AND STICK IT UNDER THE SEAT TO GIVE IT MORE ANGLE.
We are expecting our second child late next month, and are planning to use the infant carrier on him, but when he out grows it, we will be switching to this car seat.
