these are the recipes i keep going back to this magazine is the best source of recipes and ideas i get. others just don't hold a candle to it. like others, i'm pleased to see it return to the shelves. if you enjoy the recipes, you can pick up the cookbooks they prepared (3 in all) in a former life. they're spectacular, a diverse range of tastes and complexities of preparation, and all healthy.
highly recommended for the average cook with a curious taste.
Practical, Healthy, Classy
I was crushed a few years ago when Eating Well's new owner decided to flush it because it was not profitable enough. Fortunately, the creative minds behind it found a way to revive it as a quarterly with no advertising. This is an intelligent magazine that proves that it is possible to enjoy healthy food to the hilt without deprivation. The recipes are doable in any kitchen and use whole foods. The articles are incisive, well researched and readable. The lay-out and photography are high quality. The magazine tells the truth since it does not have to worry about losing advertising revenues. My only regret is that it is not a monthly.
World Class on Recipes and Information
When I received a gift subscription to this magazine, I thought "oh no, I doubt I'll have time to read it each month," since I'm a working Mother of two toddlers. But starting with the first issue, Eating Well has become the first thing I read each month. It is a delightful blend of information on nutrition and organics. The recipes are varied and plentiful, from easy to hard, quick to leisurely. The editorial is clean, concise and of a manageable length. What a terrific package.
