Customer Reviews of Dying Daylights
Must Have For Goth Rock Fans This album is awesome. All of the songs on this cd keep a fast pace and all are different enough to keep from sounding the same. The lyrics are strong, poetic, and dark. "If" has a great chorous and is slower than the rest. Songs such as "Drive" and "In Trust Of No One" are hard and fast; songs that make you want to turn the volume up all the way. I'm usually more into punk and alt. rock but this is one of my favorite albums, makes me wanna wear black every time I listen to it.
This is great stuff!
If you're looking for unbelievable goth rock, Finland is the place. It seems like awesome goth bands from Finland are a dime a dozen--Sentenced, to/die/for, the 69 eyes, HIM, Poisonblack; just to name a few, and Charon are amazing as well. If you're tired of the "we decided to start a goth-rock band, so we bought a keyboard and a drum machine" bands that are on labels like Cleopatra, you must check out Charon. If you like Poisonblack and have never heard Charon, you will love this---J.P. Leppalouto sings for both bands, and he has an amazing voice. This album is good, but Downhearted is even better, definately pick that one up if you can get ahold of it. Awesome!!
Beyond amazing!
Gothic-rock masterpiece!! (Bizarre that Amazon have linked it with power-metal bands that they have NOTHING in common with. Except that they have guitars. And drums. And a singer. But otherwise, completely different!)
Charon are one of those musical gems that crops up only occasionally on the radar - true, they've been going for quite some time, but they've never really got much airplay outside of mainland Europe.
Put simply, if you like bands like HIM, Sentenced (albums "Down" to "The Cold White Light"), Poisonblack (JP sings for Charon!) and Entwine, you will love this album.
A smooth, moody, melancholic, gothic, but ultimately uplifting album, this is one of the best albums you could pick up this year. Every song is a keeper, and well worth checking out. You won't be disappointed! And tell all your friends, too.
