Customer Reviews of Duran Duran - First 11 Videos
Don't pay more than $10 for this "import"! The quality of the audio/video is a 7.5 out of 10 (low volume and faded pic). It has the appearance of a bootleg - there are typos on the cover and menus. If you can get it cheap (think ebay), it's worth collecting for the 4 missing from "Greatest". The picture is a bit washed out, indicating the source material was either videotape or laserdisc, but there are no forced subtitles. You do get a cute karaoke type feature (just songs and lyrics), and a bio. It's region 0 and NTSC, which is best for U.S., Canada, and Asia. I was lucky to get mine from a seller in Korea for $10 incl. shipping, and felt it was a fair price. Cheers!
Great to have the four rare videos on this DVD, source is questionable
I ordered this DVD recently because the following four videos cannot be found on any 'official' DVD release that I'm aware of:
<
>
<
>* Lonely In Your Nightmare
<
>* Careless Memories
<
>* My Own Way
<
>* Nightboat

>While it's great to finally have these videos (everything else is on the Greatest DVD), I didn't realize this DVD may not be an 'official' release after all. Actually, it seems as though this could even be a bootleg:
<
>
<
>1.) The quality is not bad, but it seems like a copy of the VHS original which has been out of print for ages.
<
>2.) The DVD menus had to be created with the cheapest software available. My own DVDs of home movies look better than this does.
<
>3.) The cover has references to Stephen Duffy and Simon Colley. This is odd as neither of these guys were members of Duran Duran (Stephen Duffy had Simon's job long ago, but that was before any records were even cut and the band was still forming. The reference is very strange).
<
>4.) Take a look at the description on the image of the DVD cover. The statement "This unique collection of Duran Duran's first 11 videos (including two tracks" is both grammatically flawed and incomplete.

>All together, this DVD looks like a bootleg to me. I'm surprised it's for sale on Amazon and I'm curious if the band is aware that the DVD is becoming available from more and more sources on the internet.

>All and all, I'm glad I bought it, but buyers should beware that this DVD may not be an 'official' release. I'm certain the band would do a much better job than this.
