Good Buy
This is a very nice, compact little DVD player. It sits nicely on top of your clunky old VCR, next to the switchbox. It reads slightly smudged/scratched discs very well, and has good image quality. No blocky edges on the pictures. There are a couple of things that bother me about it. <

>1. The buttons are on top, so if you toss something on top of the DVD player, you chance sudden fastforwarding or rewinding, etc. <

>2. The remote control is SO TINY that it disappeared the third day I had it and I have seen neither hide nor hair of it since. <

>I can live without a remote, though, so it's okay. Overall, this is a good product. It does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well, which is good when you have five-year-old fingerprints all over your favorite cartoons.

Excellent for the price
On a recent trip when I needed to show some DVDs on a standard hotel TV I discovered the DVD player I'd taken along for that purpose was malfunctioning so I made a quick trip to the local Walmart and found this unit for under $30. It was easy to set up and use without having to refer to the manual which I didn't bother looking at until several weeks later, and the quality of the video and audio was much better than I expected from such a low priced unit. <

>It's a top loader so it won't do in a tight space, nor can anything be stacked on top of it. The only control I had trouble with was the Skip button which doubles as a FF button depending on how long you hold it down which sometimes makes it difficult to move forward to where you want to go. That's only a minor annoyance though and not enough to keep me from giving this surprisingly potent little unit 5 stars. <

>The owner's manual says it will play all audio and mp3 recorded discs as well as CD-R, CD-RW and JPEG photo discs. I haven't tried all those features yet, I use mine strictly for DVDs and it has done admirably with both commmercial and homemade DVDs, even those made on DVD+RW discs. It's a feature packed little unit that is well worth considering.

THE BEST DVD PLAYER!!!
This has been an exellent dvd player and I am thrilled that I decided to pick this one up. I have had no problems with picture or sound quality and love all of the features for the price and I have owned it for 6 months! <

>This dvd player also has a "last" button and a "next" button on it in case you lose your remote and you have box set dvds like I do, you can watch all of the shows without needing the remote. I am lazy and don't like to get up and so it is much more convenient to have a remote control. <
