double Standard First of all, the character in the movie did not have an affair with his babysitter. So I doubt if the reviewer even watched the movie or read the book. The young lawyer began dating his high school helper. They fall in love with each other. And they have many children. He commits bigomy because he is married to two women at the same time. In the end he is forever barred from practicing law but his first wife declines to press bigomy charges against him. Yes it was based on a true story and it is very worth watching. It is a very sad movie with a sad ending.
True Story of a Convicted Bigamist
This was based on the true story of a man who married his baby sitter but didn't bother to divorce his wife of many years. He was actually a lawyer and later became a judge, can you believe this guy? Anyway, he had many children with his wife the baby sitter and it was almost 16 years later before his first wife found out that they'd been living this double/secret life only a few hundred miles away. I think rather than have a beautiful baby sitter in my house, I'll be a stay at home mom...This movie was well acted, though and very emotional.
