Customer Reviews of Double Breast Pump Kit
Not worth the money or frustration Being a working first time Mom, I thought this pump would be a god send. Instead, I have had months of un-needed frustration. My mother offered to buy me a pump for a baby shower gift. I researched every pump on the market and even though I saw a few unfavorable reviews, I decided to try the Whisper Wear. What a great idea for working mothers. A way to pump and work at the same time. Well, if the product actually worked like it was suppose to, it would have been wonderful. Instead, I spent 3 months trying to get to work. When it does work, which in my case wasn't often, it was great. But, I spent more time trying to get it to work than it was worth and spent needless hours worrying about losing my supply. I assembled the product correctly thanks to the new tool, but could not get the breast cups to suction onto my breast. I tried a tight bra, a sports bra, and a nursing bra and still could not get them to work all the time. And I found out the if even the slightest speck of anything was on the cup, that the suction was lost. I spent more time washing them and trying to get them to suction on properly than I did actually pumping. I even called support and tried every "trick" they gave me and still could not get them to work.
I had a pump to break and sent it to have it fixed. I was without it for 5 days, but fortunately it was over a weekend and I had a manual pump to cover the loss. The service was good on it, but it should not have broke in the first place. The pumps are made of a thin plastic and I have found a tiny crack in one of them. The pumps need to be made of a harder plastic to withstand the 4-5 pumps a day that working mothers do. One slip off the desk and onto the carpeted floor and they come apart. I would hate to think what would have happened if they had hit the hardwood floors instead.
I recently had the other pump stop working. After sitting at my desk and having milk run down my stomach at 8:00 in the moring because the pump was not working properly (and yes it was assembled correctly), I decided to go ahead and purchase another pump. I went with the Medela PIS and am kicking myself for not going with it in the first place. I pumped 4 ounces in 10 minutes with the PIS. The Whisper Wear would have taken me 5 minutes of getting it to work and then 30 minutes of pumping.
While I truly believe this is a great concept and could work, I think the company needs to do alot more R&D to get it to work properly. Do not waste your time, money, or sanity on this product. Go with the tried and proven Medela PIS instead.
Waste of Money!
I spent so much money on this pump, and it didn't work well for me at all. I had both pumps working for over 30 minutes, and didn't even produce one ounce of milk! I got tons more milk by using a single, handheld, manual pump! I think it may have to do with my breast size, however. I have very large breasts, and I always felt like the suction would break any time I moved. I also felt like I couldn't sit down because the stems and bags would bend. I'm going to give this pump to a small-breasted friend, and see if it works for her.
It really IS that good!
When I saw this pump in the store, I was skeptical, but interested. Then I checked out the company's website, and I was sold. When I finally got the pump, I found out it really is the miracle they say! I have had to go back to work now, and this pump has made it an easier transition for all of us. It's not bulky or noisy,it's comfortable to use, it produces a great deal of milk, and I can even pump to and from my commute. It's totally worth the investment to be able to continue providing for my baby. Get it - you won't be sorry. One tip that really makes a difference, definitely, use fresh batteries - - they work a lot better than the rechargable ones offered with the kit.
