The simple yet elegant gameplay mechanics are accessible to younger gamers. You control a glove, pointing and clicking to guide Mickey to his next destination. Just as in an authentic Mickey cartoon, you will have to outwit enemies and pull gags. You will also be able to uncover special souvenirs, such as Pluto's collar or Minnie's bow, which are all displayed in Mickey's room at the end of the game. Mickey is highly expressive, reacting emotionally to what you do and what he encounters. He may express curiosity, get mad, fall down, run away, or stand his ground.
Mickey can receive extra help if you connect with Disney's Magical Quest Starring Mickey and Minnie for Game Boy Advance using the special GameCube/Game Boy Advance cable. A parent mode allows an adult and child to play along together, with the adult controlling Mickey.

Customer Reviews of Disney's Magical Mirror
Disney kinda screwed this up. Well, I purchased this game for something to play and have my three year old watch and to be totally honest, i was very dissappointed. The graphics are pretty and the little side quests are vaguely entertaining once you get over the little pointy hand interface.
Good Things:
Kid vs Normal. I liked the fact that there was a kid version and a normal version of the game. This is nice and the spacing out of the scarier stuff into the "normal" version was a good idea. They should have handled puzzles more in this fashion too (more later).
In Kid mode ... Mickey runs around and does stuff on his own. I liked this ... the unattended play version. Good stuff.
Big Problems:
Ok. In some of the short puzzles ... if you run out of time ... the game says, "Time Out" and yer done. The syntax here is correct however, a lot of younger kids know those words as some sort of punishment phrase. Time Out ==> Off to a corner or your room or whatnot. I just didn't like that phrasing.
Next big problem is the TV. Boggle. In the beginning of the game is a television that Mickey cannot turn on. (This is both in kid and normal mode) Ok ... So you push the button ... no luck ... then if you are fast, you can perform a "Trick" and try the remote ... this doesn't work as well. So ... later you shrink mickey mouse and low and behold he climbs under the television and TADA ... the solution ... Mickey plugs the television into the wall. Now the remote will work. Now ... my three year old, when seeing this immediately said, "Bad Mickey!" because he's not allowed to plug things into electrical outlets ... but that might not be a common rule.
Overall, i thought the game was pretty, though there isn't a great deal of material here ... and there is a good amount of interactiveness in the game but as a parent, i found the content in this DISNEY title to be a little disturbing.
It's cute. Rent it.
Great For Little Ones
I have to admit, for an adult, this game can get a little boring.
But my son absolutly LOVES this game as does my daughter. They are 3 and 1 respectively. This is the target audience and I wish developers would make more games aimed at this market.
The game plays like a point and click PC game, so it seems out of place on a console; but, that being said, it is aimed at young children who just don't get the controller.
The game offers two modes, Normal and Kids. In Kid mode, Mickey will automatically move after a few seconds if the child fails to press a button. Why is this good? I have actually turned the game on, disconnected the controller, and allowed the game to play as a DVD!
What's more, Mickey's move choices are random, so it's never the same 'movie' twice! My son actually likes to have me play while he watches. He tells me what to have Mickey do next, and we watch the show.
THIS IS A GREAT TITLE FOR FAMILIES WITH LITTLE CHILDREN.
