Review of DR-UDMA 66 IDE Controller
I recently purchased a new hard disk that is capable of 66mbs, but my motherboard was not. I had shopped for a controller and found that the best model was made by Promise (the Digital Research is made by Promise). I received the card today. I put it in my PC, connected my hard disk and CD-ROM drive. I turned on the power, booted into Windows 98, and when asked, inserted the Promise driver diskette. Everything worked beautifully. My on-board IDE controller is still functional, so I can have up to 8 IDE devices in my system. I did a few tests of copying files from one directory to another and it was FAST! This is an easy upgrade and worth the money.
