Customer Reviews of Destroy All Djs
Destroy all djs Last year in dance music, taking other artists songs and mixing them together with the least likely of songs was a huge trend in dance music, next to electroclash music. I never really saw the appeal in the music. I tried but the music bored me. Lately I started to getting into some songs in the vein of electrolcash music like the Fischerspooner/Billy Squirer song "Everyone Wants You to Emerge" and Client's "Price of Love". Today I just found a copy of "Destroy All Djs", a 74 minute opus of popular songs that were mixed together in the most peculiar way. Who would have thought that Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall (part 2)" would sound good together with Enya's "Orinocco Flow (Sail Away)"? One of my favorite songs is the Nico vs. Apoptygma Berzerk's "All Tommorow's Parties". I just love Nico's vocals set to Apop's synthesized dance beats. I also dug Sly Bastard vs. Effcee's "Seven Nation Army (Looking At Helll RMX). If those combinations weren't weird enough, then hearing THe Shangri-Las, The Runaways, and The Ramones on the same cd was bizarre...good but bizarre nevertheless. The mixing isn't completely flawless because a lot of the mixing sounds rather choppy and the songs didn't necessarily flow well from one song into the next song. Still I personally enjoyed this cd. I liked hearing all types of music one cd. "Destroy All Djs" is definitely not your atypical mix cd.
Save your money
The overall mixing of this CD is horrible. The mashups sound as if you had two cd players with 2 different songs playing at the same time, hardly a mix.The Effcee track "Perfect", which I believe is the only original song on the CD, sounds like generic 80's 2 layer techo.
Make Your Own, It'll Be Better..
I was expecting much better. First, it seems like this cd was made soley to expose the few new cuts on it. Second, there aren't really any stand out moments of great mixing/programming. Third, no flow. I love mashing, but this isn't where it's at. Get Kill The DJ instead. The coupon inside this disk makes up for a little of the burn..
