Denon's AVR-485 provides 6 channels of discrete amplification to drive all the primary speakers in a 6.1 surround sound system (front left/right speakers, rear left/right surrounds, and front/rear center speakers, along with a preamp output for the ".1" low-frequency effects channel, i.e. subwoofer). The receiver packs 110 watts per channel.

best quality sound for the price.... I was considering Onkyo HT-S770 and Denon 485-XP...and I am glad I went with Denon. With professionally designed speakers (wooden body; as others like Onkyo HTIB comes with plastic body speakers) pumping 110Watts, 8" woofer with 100 Watts amplification simply ranks this system as "The Best" among its competitors.
