Customer Reviews of Deni 10500 Stainless-Steel 6/7-Cubic-Foot Convection Oven and Rotisserie with Toaster Drawer
mediocre product, excellent service The item arrived on time. It seems to work well enough but the actual manufacturer of the oven took some unfortunate shortcuts in design particularly in the toast tray and the main oven door. The latches are very low quality. A seemingly inexpensive fix would put more secure and effective lathes in place. The actual cooking and toasting features seem to work fine, however. <

>As far as service goes they were terrific, When I called in to complain that my oven door would not latch they immediately sent me a replacement at no cost. The second unit oven latch has the same cheap bayonet catch but at least holds the door this time. <

>Somebody just tried to save a buck or so on the cheaper latch and marred an otherwise pretty good product.
Wonderful Product
I have used this oven to bake chicken, potatoes, vegetables, etc. Great time saver and money saver. Heats up much quicker than my regular oven and cooks just as well. Love the convection feature for baking bread. I highly recommend this toaster oven.
Not quite worth the price I paid (revised)
I paid around $150 for this unit via AMAZON several months ago. At $73, I'd say this unit is more than worth-it. My original review *title* is inappropriate in this seller's area ... though I stand by my comments:
<
>
<
>Specifically, in my unit the bottom tray won't fit in its proper, upright position. It warps up on one corner and will not lie flat, unless the rotisserie attachment is installed to hold everything firmly down.
<
>
<
>Without the rotisserie installed, I have to use the bottom tray upside down. It won't contain drips or runoff when it's upside down, so one would want to use tinfoil or another tray to catch stuff.
<
>
<
>However, the instructions advise *not* to use any tinfoil liners in the oven. In another place (a recipe I think), the instructions say to use tinfoil. Confusing! I had to give up on the inadequate illustrations and text ... I spent about an hour fiddling with things, until I figured out ways to get the oven put together. The rotisserie attachment required some "forcing", and it fits so tightly that I feel the rotisserie motor won't last long, if I use it a lot.

>The toaster tray is why I decided to pay the higher price for this oven, and I don't think my decision was justified, after using the unit. One must PREHEAT the toaster tray, so that it takes more than five minutes to get medium-brown toast, and the toast is a bit dried-out for my taste. I've returned to using my 1940s no-frills two-slice toaster, still going strong after 60 years.

<
>That said, everything else I've cooked so far has turned out fine (cookies, brownies, Cornish hens, steaks, pizzas, hot dogs), and I'm confident I can continue getting good results with this oven. But I don't believe this product is worth its price ... even though I got it at a discount and with free shipping.
