Customer Reviews of Deep River (Limited Edition)
I hope it's not Utada's "Final Distance" in Music! This is definitely one of the best CDs of Utada (while I enjoy her music very much and I think she's such a great singer)! Her fluency of English pronounciations and beautiful melodies make this Japanese Pop singer my all time favorites! Pure looks, pure voice, what else can you ask for but for an awesome CD such as "Deep River". Her ability to never let down or disappoint her fans makes her one of the best J-Pop artists out there. She knows how to work what she has and make it look good as she was so avidly able to do with this album showing off her different musical genres of hip-hop, r&b, & pop. Ear candy that'll make you crave for it more and more!
By far the best album
Though many of you may not speak japanese, there is no need for you to learn it to listen to this album
Utada Hikaru, known simply as Hikki to her Japanese fans, has a wonderful set of vocals. Her voice tears through the language barrier. You do not need to know the lyrics to feel the emotions transmitting through her voice. Trust me, this CD will be a valueable asset to your cd collection. It is worth every penny, if not more. Great songs include : Distance, Deep River (the best) and Sakura Drops.
Hikki is brilliant
I'm a grad student in applied math at UCLA. This album is amazing. I don't even understand most of the lyrics, but I still love it. And I love Utada Hikaru--she's a genius, a great spirit, who grew up equally in Japan and America, and went to Columbia University to study philosophy but is on leave to pursue her music career. She has said that perhaps she will retire early and study neurology. I can't wait to hear her English album.
