Customer Reviews of Dark Shadows Vol. 191
Great Gothic Romance This volume begins the 1841 parallel time saga. It consists of Volumes 191-200, which finishes the Dark Shadows series. This storyline is about Catherine (Lara Parker) who is about to marry Morgan Collins, when his cousin Bramwell (Jonathan Frid) returns to Collinwood. Catherine and Bramwell have been in love for years but Bramwell went away to earn his fortune before returning to claim Catherine. However, Catherine is determined to let her head rule her heart and insists on marrying Morgan. In the meantime, there are other problems at Collinwood: a curse and the need for a Collins to spend the night in a locked room which causes either death or madness.
OK? Now you need to get these last 10 videos and sit down and enjoy some of the best Dark Shadows since the 1795 episodes. These have great romance, suspense and Bronte-type flavor that we've come to love in DS. It's pure gothic, without witch trials and heads (although there is a ghost or two).
These last episodes won't be available on DVD for several years, but MPI Home Video has them for $5.98 each, which suprisingly beats Amazon's price. Check it out and enjoy!!!
the final storyline begins
Ten weeks away from its 1971 final episode, Dark Shadows concludes the Judah Zachery flashback story and begins the wonderful 'curse of the locked room' sequence in parallel time. To wit, under the possession of Judah, Gerard Stiles takes away Angelique's powers and holds her captive, as Quentin Collins and Desmond Collins are led to the guillotine. (Don't miss Angelique's final scene.) Barnabas Collins, Julia Hoffman, and Elliot Stokes return to the twentieth century. In 1841 Parallel Time, Bramwell Collins insists that Catherine Harridge marry him.
