This game is quite remarkable in that it truly captures the flavor of the show on which it is based. Somewhat surprisingly, Daria's deadpan humor translates beautifully to an interactive format. Sly in-jokes abound, with lots of witty touches--visual references to classic European paintings, for example. Helpful tips come packaged in the form of clips from Daria's own favorite TV program, Sick Sad World. As she pursues the lost objects, Daria herself is pursued by a number of irritants: nagging parents, mall retail staff, and even Charles Ruttheimer. Too much contact with these forces can overload Daria with irritation, causing you to lose the game. Luckily, players who don't want to spend their gaming time dodging these pests can usually find a way to defuse them, whether it's by crushing them in a giant book, using a voodoo doll, or warding off Quinn with a pair of unfashionable clogs.
If there is a significant drawback to Daria's Inferno, it's that it's too short. There are only five missing items to find (to really draw a comparison to Dante's Inferno, there should have been nine), and the levels in which the items are found have some unfortunate repetition. Young players will find the game somewhat challenging, but its mature humor might make some parents uneasy. Teen and adult players will finish the game in a matter of hours. These factors make Daria's Inferno a game best suited to those players predisposed to love it--those who are already fans of the television program. --Alyx Dellamonica

Customer Reviews of Daria's Inferno
This Game is Awesome! This game is a must for any Daria fan! I bought it last year from amazon and I loved it!! (Yeah by the way I'm really 16, not under 13, but I don't have my own account so I'm posting my review like this...) Okay so anyway, this game is really fun and amusing. And it's really funny because it has all these jokes from Daria and Sick Sad World. If you love the show, you'll love this game. Especially since the graphics make it look like a real episode of Daria - it's animated the same way and looks awesome - it's like being in an actual episode that you control! And although I will agree that this game is more for real Daria fans than hardcore gamers, it's still pretty challenging because there are some obstacles and puzzles that do take some thought to figure out (although nothing is too annoying or impossible to figure out). It's a very enjoyable gam eto play! And once you finish, it's fun to go back and play again with a friend (although it's only for one player at a time - but alternating is fun). Yeah, so buy this game because I promise you'll love it!
Great Game!
This is a great game and a must buy for any Daria fan. I just recieved my copy today, it's pretty easy, and only took up 2 and a half hours win it. It starts out with Daria falling asleep while her English Teacher is reading a book about hell, she dreams that she's in her own personal hell and she has to recover some items stolen from the school to wake up. Once you have recovered all the items you wake up.
Short, but not sooo simple...
Well, before buying Daria's Inferno I knew and loved the series, of course and I also read all the reviews before eventually deciding to purchase it. I agree that the game is pretty short and offers hardly any extras. However, I disagree with it being so simple as some people said. I may not play as many games as other users, but honestly, who never failed when trying to mess with the heating system in the cellar, for instance? And this is just the first level! Yes it is short but no, it defenitely is not only simple. There are some tricky parts you have to cope with before finishing the game. For the record: I'm 27 and therefore way beyond the age of the target group but probably still a typical Daria fan.
Overall, I liked the game. It's nothing that keeps you awake for endless nights but it offers some fun when you have some spare time. Especially the scenery and the characters are very well done and they really stick close to the show. A must-have for every diehard Daria fan!
