Hard to see
I think the instruction for all the dances were adequate - not that I've tried them all yet. They seemed OK when I was just watching them - maybe people need to watch them once or twice before they try them. I have just done the warm up and the paso doble so far, and found I'm pretty klutzy. But hopefully more practice will build my skill and endurance, so I can move on to the faster dances. I understand the four main routines, but getting the body to obey what the brain tells it to do is sometimes difficult. I think the routines are a great introduction to some ballroom dance moves, and how to use the moves to work out. The problem is, now I seem to be walking in a simple paso doble walk all the time! ONE-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight ONE-... At least I've managed to resist the urge to do the arm sweep - so far... ;) As an aside, if you dig the paso doble, check out the Baz Luhrmann film [[ASIN:B00005V1Y0 Strictly Ballroom]] - it's great! <

>The one bone I have to pick is how hard it is to see some hip and leg positions, and even foot positions, cos everyone wears black pants, black shoes, the guys are in all black. The lower half of their bodies seem to disappear into the stage steps behind them, or into the sea of other black-legged dancers. Trade the dancer chic for contrast, if there is a second volume. In the same vein, I think some side views of the dance moves would have helped a lot, to show off the position, and things like how much twist or lunge or travelling is actually being done.

Not bad, but kind of cheesy...
I expected more of a high-end production, and was disappointed that it didn't have an ounce of the slickness of the TV show. This has an amatuerish feel to it overall, especially the music. They could have spent a few more bucks and made it more enjoyable to dance to, rather than use this lame canned stuff. I'll get tired of that part of it quickly. I'm not a dancer, but I don't have a real complaint about the lack of instruction. It wasn't difficult to follow, as it seemed to be the basic moves you see on the show week after week. It does seem that the flow, at times, didn't flow very... flowingly. A few distinctly unsmooth moments, like they didn't rehearse enough, or were just improvising. The three stars are likeable. Stacey will intimidate ANYone with that figure of hers! I just wish she'd pull up her pants a little! I'm sure this is the first of many installments of videos from this show. Hopefully, the next ones will be more polished.

This is so much fun!
Although it can move a bit fast, stick with it. The challenge of the movements easily become the best part of the workout. As you start getting these moves you will actually begin to feel like you are becoming a dancer. Remember, these guys are Pros, if it were too easy it wouldn't be any fun and it certainly wouldn't be the unique experience that it is. <
