Customer Reviews of Da Villain in Black
The Ruthless Villain Does It Again MC Ren comes back on the scene with his second solo album "The Villain In Black" to rep. the CPT in 96. After his first album "Shock Of The Hour" was released, it went on to sell 300,000 copies and that was a great ruthless records release. This album even topped "Shock of the hour" by a longshot. Sadly this album was made after the passing of the main man behind Ruthless Records, Eazy-E(R.I.P.). The first single for the album, "Mad Scientist" was one of Ren's sickest songs he ever made. It's just sad how Ren is the most slept on rapper in the N.W.A. when he was up there with eazy, dre, and cube. This is definitly another underground classic from the ruthless villain. Hopefully Ren will come out with something now or in 04 to put his name back to the top where it belongs.
A great album by the ruthless villain.
In this album MC Ren comes out for the 9-5 with some real hardcore s***. He deals with his usual subjects and also has a few words to say about the new school rappers. His lyrical talent is there as always and his voice is hard as hell. The production, mostly held by cold 187um is also very tight and the guest appearences are excellent. A strong album not for everyone.
